Trivia note: The U.S. game show The Amazing Race has been on for 36 Seasons, & they have been to Netherlands for 8 of them; 4, 12, 15, 19, 21, 26, 27, & 31.
I would rather watch paid morons pretend to race to fake places over anything involving Dennis Leary. I have watched a ton of msha saftey videos of people being turned into paste, and every one was better then anything Fox has done since My name is earl.
What I like is how the make the effort to dress the actors in proper uniforms and perform tasks that normal soldiers do. Love Leary's complete hatred for the bowling portion of the base.
Love to see that the colonel has sf on uniform but no green beret or green shoulder boards in the dress blues and is wearing both sf and 75th ranger regiment on the pinks and greens.
@@alexrudkovsky2496He wears the SF DUI as his regimental affiliation. He wears a tan (Ranger) beret for the tulip festival. Do not care about this attempt at a Sergeant Bilko SITCOM. But if you are going to do the uniforms get them right.
Yeah, the name sounds strange, the first part "stroop" is Dutch and can be translated as "poach" from the verb meaning "illegally hunting" or something described as a thick sirup, more robust and heavier than the ahorn stuff" oneword translations suggested sirup, syrup and treacle, molasses has been suggested too, but that is more anout viscosity than taste... Though the Koopmansfactories are associated with sponsoring the artillery which did stop the Blitzkrieg at the Afsluitdijk and with stroopwaffles, the latter connection is more by flour and waffle than by stroop, so it cannot be that, but "dorf" would only survive until spotted by the first Dutch spellchecker. Though "stroop" might be required for the Dutch army, I don't think it is very common in either the German or the US one. It could also have to do with skinning or stripping something. Like a village where people skinned dead animals.. The hamlet Dutch Stroodorp could be involved, Strohdorfis a German name used in the BRD and Austria for hamlets, just as the expression "strodorp" for the part on equine events were horsey stuff and treats for human (and equine) persons are sold. All of that means "straw village", It can always have been named after somebody called "Stroop", a name which actually exists and according to a genealogy site is most commonly found in the Netherlands, the United States and Germany... (In that order). If it is named after a Yankee named Stroop, like the describer of the Stroop effect which has to do with incongruent stimuli... the actors aren't pronouncing the name wrong, so that is probably not the case, as that would be rather advanced humor for educated people.
.......when, during each of the Last 7 episodes, you Wake Up from yer nap in time to see the end credits rolling up the screen. You'll have Dim but quaint memories of some of the less-cloying Commercials they ran on the show.
@crispy-qx5oi getting things right adds to the experience. Look at Scrubs. Known as surprisingly accurate by a lot of people while keeping it's absurdist style. There's a lot of insanity in the military without going over the top and starting to miss the military specific comedy that you can find.
@@CordaroBlu ya except scrubs is a more of a drama comedy that was on air for like 9 seasons and by the end probably had like 3 times the budget this has. this is a B list sitcom on fox that was likely bought for one season they dont have the budget for millitary advisors
@@crispy-qx5oi Scrubs had plenty of resources and military advisors wouldn't have to be a major cost when all is said and done, not sure why you would think that. Or why you would say scrubs is a drama comedy?
@ like I said scrubs was show on abc with like at least 4 fairly big names and that had very good viewership and rating and ran for like 10 years. This is show that probably barely made it off the ground has a very minimal budget and that has like one actual recognizable name maybe 2. They are not even comparable. And ya scrubs was a drama comedy while this is more of a farce kinda comedy.
I watched this show and it's decently funny compared to dry comedy shows that are oddly successful. I hope this show lasts a few seasons. I like Corporal Papadakis/" hippie Jesus." 😂 As another comment said this is like Police Academy movies... which I enjoy those films. I'll continue watching.
Fox. You’re nice. And I’m sure the whole cast is nice. But you’re whole schtick is trying anything and cancelling most of it. This is not something that will make it to a season two. I don’t care how many episodes are in a season. It’s not Brooklyn 99
2:28 - Did the editor use a rehearsal take? the guy pushes him back but the other guy isnt trying to fight forward till AFTER he is touched... Season 1 wont be completed. This is the Concord of TV
The cast is good, but it doesn't look great. I usually give a new program at least two episodes. Oddly, some programs do not start well with the first episode. They have to find their way. But this trailer is not promising.
Is it? I mean did you see the premise? So again...is it? Was Community propaganda for community colleges? Did it really make you want to go to a community college where you could study Nic Cage's oveure and play paintball...hmmm ok..... Or Parks and Rec...did that want to work at your local Parks and Rec department? Where you could fix kids playgrounds and make entire communities better...um. Hm.
@chemicalhap lol Americans get so butt hurt when you ask them to think critically. Its a little more subtle in it's effect than what you're liking it to but yes, it is indeed propaganda.
Troy and Abed in the Armyyyyy
You stole my comment! 😂
And you sunk my battleship!

And another the real usa have army bases in Netherlands but it airforce and navy only

6 episodes and a netflix movie before cancelled.
Dennis leary is awesome
THAT SHOW’S GONNA LAST THREE WEEKS!!!!
So looking forward to watching this on Hulu 😂
Yeah...looks good, so Fox probably already cancelled it. See: Enlisted, Firefly and The Finder
The finder was just getting warmed up, should have had at least 3 seasons.
Looking forward to this!
The clips are hilarious!! Can’t wait to watch it.
Dennis Leary should just do a The Ref 2 but this time he breaks into the home of grown up Kevin McCallister and holds his family hostage lol
Can’t wait😂😆
I hope this show succeeds, there was another show back in 2013 that was similar called Enlisted and I’m still surprised that show got dropped!
Love to see that the colonel has sf on uniform but no green beret or green shoulder boards in the dress blues and is wearing both sf and 75th ranger regiment on the pinks and greens.
He is not in SF uniform. He has a long tab and regimental crest in theory he could have been enlisted in SF and an inf officer.
@@alexrudkovsky2496He wears the SF DUI as his regimental affiliation. He wears a tan (Ranger) beret for the tulip festival. Do not care about this attempt at a Sergeant Bilko SITCOM. But if you are going to do the uniforms get them right.
Fun Fact all the outside shots on base isn't actually in the Netherlands 🤫
a documentary on the US army, and about what they think is the Netherlands? as a Dutchie, i am going to enjoy this one 😀
The name Stroopdorf sounds more German than Dutch. If they only named the base Stroopdorp.....

1:09 why does that look like the same conference room in Community
2:46 Clearly this is so satire no body understands the magazine has to be in the gun for it to actually shoot lol
Great cast
Catherine Tate is in this too.
Looking forward to only getting one season of this.
Cancelled after 8 episodes is my prediction
Thanks for the negativity. It sure makes everything better

8 episodes and a movie
Real ones remember Enlisted, the Arny comedy that was on Fox a decade ago and it barely lasted 10 episodes 🤣
@@MrGeoffashley Love that reference 👍
It's like Sgt. Bilko and Stripes had a baby together.
Windmills, check! Tulips, check! Bikes, check! Aaaaaaaaand... cheese, check! Yes, this is clearly The Nethe...StroopDORF!!!???
Here for Laci Mosely! Just wish people did their homework because Dorf is German, it should be Dorp! Groetjes uit Amsterdam!
God loves the Infantry 😆 🤘
If is was really in the Netherlands it should be "Stroopdorp"...."Dorf" is German, do your homework please
I hope they have a decent number of military advisors on hand
why would they have millitary advisors on a comedy?

Looks like alot of fun
Looks pretty good!
not a sitcom guy, but looks good, good casting
Only on Fox. Bah!
Didn't have a similar show like this?
I think so never saw it but I think it had the guy from the finder
Shaw are having a seizure 😅
Somewhere, someplace, CAV officers and higher NCOs are seeking medical attention for unsuppressed rage (and laughter...)
Looks promising.

Waiting
Dude who ran into the door though.
Who is that actor? Looks familiar.
Dempsey Bryk, I believe.
I've missed Leary.
This looks.. good actually?
Yup, I was saying the same thing. Cautiously saying this looks good😂?
I know weird right?
Here for Laci Mosely and only Laci Mosely.
Same. And she doesn’t even need this, her own show premieres on Freeform pretty soon after. Our girl swimming in it!
Catherine Tate... how many times are you going to post this?
There is no American military base in the Netherlands. Those are in Germany, for obvious post wwii reasons.
There is. USAG Benelux in Brunssum. With a HQ JFCB next to it.
Yeah. This being on Fox basically means this won't last

For a start, does anyone have a Military haircut?
pronounced strope
Were recruiting numbers this bad they had to make this cheesy sitcom to give you a false sense of what service is like 🤣
Soooo VET TV but rated G

So it’s cpo sharkey verison
This looks so bad, but what a great cast.
I'm gonna be so sad in a few weeks when this is canceled
Great cast and concept. Not one funny line in the entire promo. Terrible script.
Should never make soldiers look stupid, not good.
its a comedy
It looks terrible after I say that it will probably do well.
No.
Soooo police academy
... I think this may be military propaganda
I'm glad someone is media literate here...
Fox is really scraping the bottom of the barrel lol
The fun version of the duck tales song describes why this show will fail.
No.
Simply no.
The cast is good, but it doesn't look great.

Hire someone to quality control the uniforms. They are horrible. The rest is just comedy and I could not care less.
Who did Dennis blow to get this garbage picked up?
great, more military propaganda.
