I bought mine two months ago. Although the functionality is quite limited compared to other e-ink devices, I use it daily for reading and writing and I'm loving it!
@@Monsty Thanks for your review. I’m thinking to buy one remakable 2, but I have a question. Could you tell me if the quality of the annotations printing is good? i am at university and i need to print my notes to study for exams. Thanks.
@@clovismelo8551 That's a tough question! If you're marking up a document that you had imported into your rM2 and started highlighting, underlining, etc. then want to print out the final result, I think that should be fairly easy. You could use the desktop app or potentially email it to yourself. To be honest, I haven't printed anything out yet because I prefer to keep things electronically. I found a lot of value in having my physical notebooks in college. The only caveat is that I wish I had notes from certain classes accessible 10+ years after the fact!
Thanks for the videos … just ordered my rM2 (with Marker Plus) - helpful how you have dug deeper into the usability aspects than many more traditional ‘tech reviews’.
This is an absolute fantastic video. I've already shared it (plus Part 2) with someone who's struggling with paper notebooks all of the place. I've been using it heavily for 5 months.
Thank you, I appreciate that. Nice. What have you used it for? I think once I decided what content I would keep in my rM, it has been easy to recall what I'm looking for quickly. @@Monsty it's literally part of my life - I call it my "brain extender". I simply use it for replacing my (usually well organized) paper notebooks. Very useful in depth review, with good practical examples. I am still stuggling to choose in between the Remarkable and the the alternative brands. I feel that after 1 year you are still happy with it
Much appreciated. I'm definitely happy with the rM2 after a year, but I'm the type of person who used a lot of notebooks for everything in the past. If you also use notebooks frequently now, then you'll probably continue using whichever tablet you choose.
Hi I recently got Remarkable 2 and am curious to know about the battery performance. For every 10 mins of use, my Remarkable 2 consumes 2% of battery. Is this how good the battery is?
I luckily haven't had issues with my battery. I had seen a comment in the past where someone said their battery didn't last, but I think the best route there is to talk to rM support. Mine is currently at 4% since I've been using it so much. I'll leave it until 1% or let it die before charging. I also have long phone battery life and don't plug it in every night. I charge on more of an as-needed basis.
Hi, very interesting YTvids on the rM2 ! some questions : 1/ is it possible to elaborate more on how handwritten notes & diagrams/sketches are converted to "digital text" ? 2/ also it would be interesting to see how rM2 notes can be integrated in Windows/MS O365 /MS OneDrive - environment. Is it only done by the emailing function or is there a direct transfer (via USB ?) possible between rM2 and PC ? I am looking for an integration of my handwritten notes into my MS Office workplace, preferably without using dropbox or any subscription to rM2 servers. 3/ is that a replaceable protective film on the rM2 work surface ?
Great questions! 1. Yes, I'm making Part 2 right now and I go over the note to text conversion along with how to email the notes directly. 2. I haven't tried with Microsoft, but I'll look into it. I would assume notes could be transferred wirelessly like it does sending articles to the rM2. I'll be going over how I use it for work and how I integrate in Part 2, so look out for the next video. It should clear up some questions. 3. Nope, just how it comes. No need to replace anything and there's no protective film.
I'm on the fence with purchasing the device but the simplicity is what keeps bringing me back to reMarkable vs other brands. Do you find that reMarkable helps with your day-to-day focus?
That’s how I felt. I used regular notebooks often for concentration and productivity and absolutely loved them. My problem was that I needed a new one every single year but still wanted to keep some info from my old notebooks. The reMarkable is essentially an unlimited, slightly better notebook. It helps me concentrate *because* it doesn’t do anything special.
@@Monsty Very nice review, thank you very much! Can I ask you if you ever had memory issues? Do you believe those 8GB are enough even if you transfer many PDFs into your RM2? Again, many thanks!
@@davidmarzi7359 I haven't had any memory issues and the 8GB is enough for me. My preference isn't to load a lot of PDFs onto my rM; my focus is note-taking. If you primarily want it to read, you might want to check out the new Kindle tablet.
Hi, Does anyone know if this will index handwriting so you could go back and search notes? I take a million phone calls a day and make small notes in my diary and one of the hassles of course is that when someone comes back to me to ask something or to place an order we spoke about I have to scroll through my book for ages to refresh my memory. This thing looks very cool!
There’s a new feature called “Tags” on each page where you can bookmark your own keywords to find it later. You’d have to manually type the words or phrase in for them to be searchable. The rM wouldn’t index your handwriting. I wouldn’t recommend the rM if you have a couple of seconds to pull up your old notes. It would probably be best to type them and use the Find feature on the computer.
It wasn't a game changer for me, but it is for others. I wanted something that was as close to my paper notebooks as possible. Will you do most of your writing in dim or dark areas?
If you're already a notetaker and you enjoy writing in notebooks, then go for it. I wouldn't recommend it otherwise because you might not use it long-term/ it wouldn't be worth the money. My code for $40 off is in my About section of UA-cam if you do want to get the rM.
I wish there was more review on the durability after 2 or 3 years. The device is quite expensive, and bloody Apple tends to train you to change your devices often. Wonder how long you can keep your reMarkable before changing it due to wearing. :/
