    What a Great Video. I've said the main reason for so many mechanical problems with RV trailers is they are being "Shaken Apart". This video proves that point. You did a wonderful job explaining & with the video showing the "Before & After" I posted this on RVillage Community, I hope it will inform others as well. Thank You Guys.

    On the ride home from the dealership with my 375RES, both kitchen sink inserts ended up on the floor after the 10 mile trip which included 5 sets of railroad tracks at a very slow speed. From that point forward I taped down inserts with painters tape before every trip. After the installation of the IS I drove 250 miles home without the tape and the inserts stayed in-place.

    I ordered our new 5th wheel in January, and immediately contacted MORryde just to talk to them. Soonest appointment they had was 11/17, almost a year. I understand they are out over a year now!

    Night and day difference for us too. We traveled to Elkhart on I90 eastbound and took I80 westbound back to the NW. Much smoother tow headed back west. Morryde was great, even provided lunch. If any of your subscribers are considering the upgrade(s) try to time your trip around one of the many factory rallys. We got a SIGNIFICANT discount compared to your quoted prices during a recent national rally.

Looks like an awesome upgrade and perfect for full timers or those who travel thousands of miles every season with their TT or 5er.

    Hey guys, great video, and the shots of your undercarriage are spot on, which convinced me that I.S. is the only way to go. However, I don't believe the interior shots really show the whole story. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but by "hard-mounting" your camera to the body of the coach, any movement would be transmitted to it as well, making it appear that nothing actually going on inside, which I am sure was not the case. Maybe having the camera mounted to some sort of dampened spring mechanism would more clearly show what is going on inside. That said, when I order my new 5ver that will be the first upgrade I'll have done, then would come solar. Be safe, have fun & happy camping. v/r, TS Denver, CO.

    • @GetawayCouple
      @GetawayCouple  5 років тому

      Hi Tyrel, that's something to think about with the interior shots. The GoPro was mounted to our fridge, which is in a slide. So any movement in there would still be shown. Also, when you look closely, you can see the opposite side in our kitchen (dining room table area) actually moves up and down, which is pretty scary! When I was looking at the after footage, that slide didn't move at all anymore. Also, when you look at the shades and vibrations in the sink and lights you can see a difference there too. It's hard to always get a perfect shot but we wanted to keep things as comparable as possible.

    What a coincidence. I put the MoRyde system on my toyhauler in April. Saw your install video right after and got jelly since I went with the CRE 3000, but did add new leaf springs as well. Trailer tows much better now and every now and then, like when I'm turning, I can see how smooth the trailer clears driveways and handles bumps. Was going to do the IS but it wasn't recommended for my trailer frame, and also the IS and brakes require your vehicle to do hydraulic over electric, so for now the 3000 system was at least an upgrade. Thanks for the update and great footage of the suspension 😀.

      @bnothnagel 5 років тому

      @@GetawayCouple Hey guys! Yes we did the 8K suspension and disc brakes as well. I've been in touch with MORryde several times, and they had me do measurements of the spring deflection and also checked the actual types of springs they put in. The deflection measurement was outside the normal range, and they say it looks like the right springs were installed. But they wanted us to come back to Elkhart to get it checked out and we're 1.200 miles away in Texas so not an option. Plan B is for them to set something up with a service center in Houston so they can check it out, waiting on that to happen. So still not happy after all the money to actually have a rougher ride than we started with. Hopefully it gets resolved soon. Take care!

    Is $7149 the installed price for the MoRryde 8K Tandem IS and Disc upgrade?

  • @cswhiteleytx
    @cswhiteleytx 4 роки тому

    Have you weighed your RV with all of the upgrades post installation including the batteries, etc.; IS System, and all cargo? When I spoke to MoRryde, they stated the 8K IS system w/ Disk Brakes adds ~ 700 lbs to the RV, yet does not increase GVWR. The GVWR for a GD Solitude 375RES (we have a 2020 380FL) is 16,800 and if we were to add the 7K IS (~600 lb.) or 8K IS (~700 Lb.) system to our RV would put us overweight, and with all cargo onboard translates to between 17,400 and 17,500 lbs. If so, would your RV be grossly overweight as well? If stopped by a DPS Trooper and he weighed the RV would lead to a hefty fine...your comments and feedback are welcome before we more forward with a MORryde IS system.

    • @cswhiteleytx
      @cswhiteleytx 4 роки тому

      I need to add to my comment, I spoke to Grand Design today and they stated that the GVWR does not change and that by adding the additional weight of the IS system would reduce the available cargo capacity even though the axles are part of the frame. They stated that law enforcement will always revert to the manufacturers GVWR label no matter what mods are made to the frame (i.e. IS Systems). Can you provide your thoughts on this as we would really like to add the MORryde system but not be in legal peril.

      I agree with you both but there is something else different - the frequency of the shaking. It's higher frequency shaking after the upgrade. Not meaning more frequent but look at the lights hanging from the ceiling. They vibrate faster... so to me it means the wheels are reacting faster/better to the road inputs. Less stuff moves around like Rae mentioned. I think it's a good upgrade, dramatically smoother on the underside like Mark said.

      Hi all! I think John hit the nail on the head with his comment. To add to that, we know the higher frequency of the shaking inside is because it's a slightly stiffer suspension. This is because we opted for 8K since we were almost at our max weight with our old 7K. When we were talking with MORryde about the 7K or 8K they let us know right off the bat we'd have a slightly stiffer suspension with 8K but we were totally ok with that.

    Hi, do you ever experience any brake fade with the new disk brakes?

    • @GetawayCouple

      Not at all! We've actually had to lower the gain a few times to finally get it perfect for us. The trailer brakes were so good they were making us slow down faster than we wanted to lol.

    At 7:20 or when viewing under your RV... there is a crack as you look at the screen on the right side. Looks like what is protecting the undercarriage of the RV.. Check it out and make sure is nothing serious.

      Hi Hector! We looked at the video and see what you're talking about. We looked under the rig to double check and it's just extra glue material they used to seal up the underbelly. We're all good, thank you! Good eye!

    Speaking from experience, to get a better ride in your pickup... get a chevy! The ride is significantly better, and in my opinion, more power!
