- I think part of the appeal of this hobby is that I can own vehicles in small scale, which I would more than likely, never own in full size. Better yet, in small scale, I can beat the heck out of these tiny trucks and never have to worry about HUGE repair bills! Well today is one of those exciting days for me. This is the new MERCEDES BENZ G500 (G Wagon!) on the very popular electric Traxxas TRX4 with portal gears, 2 speed transmission, remote locking differentials, and so much more! I skipped the unboxing, as I have already done many unboxings of Traxxas TRX4 products.. and jumped straight to the creek and back woods trails... ENJOY!

it is true that I have never seen one in real life ... but I find that something is strange with the wheels. they do not have a scale appearance and the body looks very plastic. just my thoughts after seeing several videos.
Dirt Stroggle I think they made the body look very lifelike, and seeing as how some people buy toy grade just for the detailed, hard plastic bodies to put on their hobby grade RCs, the fact that it looks like a toy could be considered a compliment. I agree about the wheels, though.
I got the blue one and it looks way better. The red doesnt have that metallic paint look.
They should make a traxxas Toyota land cruiser rock crawler.

OMG there is a mini-DJMedic inside that Mercedes G500! I love my TRX-4, definitely a great RC crawler, I never get bored of it. Makes me really happy they released another European body option, so we get some representation. It's great what they did with the "bumpers" in this body. The rims are gorgeous, even if a bit oversized for the scale. Traxxas is a performance company ;)
I really hope they'll fix that annoying noise the ESC makes, PWM needs some adjustment over there. But hey worst case the HobbyWing 1080 is only 45 bucks away :D :D :D

I just placed an order for the new Traxxas TRX-4 Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6x6. Cant wait for it to get here, it looks fun. I am really getting into RC Crawling and really enjoy it.
Traxxas has really stepped up big time on a lot of these new models, such as the TRX-4 (Traxx, Mercedes-Benz G500, Blazer, Defender, Bronco, Tactical, Sport, Sport Kit Version, Standard Kit Version, and the new Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6x6), X-Maxx, E-Revo V2.0, Ultimate Desert Racer, 4-Tec V2.0. the drivetrain on those models is very stout and the rest of the parts are a lot stronger than they used to be. I just wish they would update the models that use the Slash Chassis with upgraded drive train like the E-Revo V2.0.
I have a Slash 4x4 Ultimate and had put a lot of money into it and have started Racing it.
I also have a UDR, X-Maxx, 4-Tec V2.0 VXL (with the Beautiful Silver CTS-V and Graphite Corvette Z06 Bodies from Traxxas), Original Nitro 4-Tec with a 3.3 Engine, E-Revo V2.0 (Sold my original E-Revo and picked up the new one), T-Maxx Pro .15, 2.5 and 3.3, Rustler VXL, Bandit VXL, Nitro Rustler with a 3.3 Engine, Jato 3.3, 1/16th Scale E-Revo VXL, Nitro-Vee Pro .15 Boat, and now the TRX-4 Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6x6. I also want to get a Summit

Anything can have cruise control if you just adjust the throttle trim so it rolls on its own. And while I don't have much nice to say about Traxxas, I am really glad Medic is feeling better and getting out on some trails and getting out to events.
This is definitely on my next to get list

@@diedewip7912 4 different trucks, a bronco, a jeep trx4 sport, a f150 trx4 sport build kit and a 1/16th zombie jeep trx4 build kit and might get another build kit to make a 1/16th rat rod crawler.

Hey Medic, I'm so glad you made this. Cause like you I wanted this for months and I heard a LOT OF PEOPLE complain about the tires even tho they are scale and you proved it is very capable. I've seen you do that hill many times with other cars and it's tough. And the overall video quality is awesome as usual. My wife works for Benz and we both say that Traxxas should've put at least a fake tire carrier on the back. Most real ones have it and if they don't it's cause it has run flats. Well hope you are feeling ok. Gonna watch my favorite show You Tube Gold Baby!!!

I think a well weathered more crawler specific G wagon body will look awesome. It is an iconic body style but it definitely needs to have more of a dedicated crawler image. Some cage work and a healthy amount of trail rash and rim rash

I am going to get the TRX4 but I want a military Humvee "HMMWV" body for it. Doesn't really seem to be that many options on the market to make this happen though.
I have a real M998 Humvee in woodland camo and I was wanting to replicate it. I think it would look awesome even though the real Humvee has independent suspension with CV axles and not solid axles, however the real Humvee and the TRX4 both have geared wheel hubs that raises the axle height above the centerline of the wheels.
You can try to make your own body out of lexan

Ok so I’ve been looking at getting a trx 4 but I’ve held out to see what issues came up and I must say other than everyone saying all the servos going bad after a period of time I’m happy to say outta the box I’m impressed with it
