Rutland Water 22nd April 2023

I managed to get out of bed for an early start for a change. The highlight of my day was the first sighting of an avocet this year. There was another moment when a bird landed on the roof of the hide. All I had was a quick glimpse as it came into land, not enough to identify it. That was followed by the frustration of hearing it walking up and down the roof, but I never saw it.
