Actually, my Dell WD15, using Dell's 180W power supply provides my Dell Latitude 5320 with 130W. So with the correct dock and power supply combination, you can charge the laptop, contrary to what you stated.

Great summary and video, but my wish would be that it related to MacBook Pro M1 computers instead of Dell.

Hi! Maybe just as supplement to 07:50.. for all those asking about the charging their laptop with WD15: it depends on the battery you are having in your laptop and the power of the original charger. for example, bough a new Ideapad3 (LENOVO) with the 38W battery and the 64W charger. To know is WD15 capable of charging your laptop you need to know the output power of the dock. WD15 with 130w charger can output 90W power, which in my case was enough - so I have bough a used wd15 and everything works perfectly. Side note: wd15 with the 180W charger gives an output power of 130w...

Do you know if Displayport MST works with the two displayports on the WD19DC dock? That way you could drive at least 4 screens on those two ports alone, right? Thanks for posting such in depth information on like this on your channel!

I have a Wd15. I'm just going to use it to connect another monitor to my notebook. Can I use a 90W source?

Why the dock needs a power supply if I don't use it for charging the laptop? Does the power supply makes the connection to the monitors work better?

I have a question for all you, I have a work laptop with 1 hdmi and 1 usb c. The usb c is not thunderbolt. I also am not allowed to install any software or drivers on the laptop. With that being said, I would like the option of powering two external monitors for better productivity. Is this possible? I have tried dock after dock and spent 100’s of dollars trying to make this work. If anyone sees this and has a option for me I would greatly appreciate it!
    Monitor 1- Acer KA272
    Monitor 2- Lg 34WQ500
    Laptop- HP RTL8822CE

"if I use this dock I'm downgrading the graphics of my laptop"
Why not connect some screens through the dock and others directly on the laptop?

Thanks for this video. Currently I am using WD19TB with Precision 5550 and using a single external monitor (with inbuilt speaker) through HDMI port of Dock. But the problem is it's not redirecting laptop audio to External monitor. Tried all possibilities available over internet but no luck so far.
Do you have any idea about this. ? If you can guide me then that would be really helpful for me.

240 watt adapter? I didn't see that mentioned in the WD19's documentation. It specifies using the 130W adapter for 90W power delivery, or the 180W adapter for 130W power delivery.
Anything over 180 watts will not be used, because 180 watts provides full functionality and the maximum power delivery supported by Dell (130W).
Regarding the error: Do you get that if you plug your USB hub into one of the two USB-A ports on the BACK of the dock (not the one on the front)?
