Thanks for this networking vid Mr. Eli. I'm enjoying these vids.👍
Suggestion: It would be a good idea, to have examples of a fiber optics cable, an old hub, and other networking equipment available etc, so noobs will know what these things look like. Or use pics of them in your vids. But good work showing a switch etc.👏

Modern network cards can to detect straight cables and adjust TX and RX pairs, there no need for special crossover cable. Also, WAN port of home routers acting like PC's network card, and generally, if to connect WAN to some PC at home - there should be crossover cable. I just stumbled in this situation with some old wi-fi router and I had to cut two pairs in a cable and cross them physically.

How often are “Shielded Cables” replaced for a wire payment system.
In a movie it was used to send messages to the US President during an emergency. (It was always monitored in case regular phone system was shut down) Earthquake-The Deadly Shift

    I've always pronounced it "eeth-er-net " (long "e").
This is the first time I've ever thought it's not spelled that way...

Networking seems to have no future as a career.

@@SuperThisishowwedo It will still be around but not in the traditional sens with physical hardwares for most companies they have started relying more and more on saas services or vms in the cloud.
