Horrific man. It’s the thought of what was happening during the 80 mile drive, I wonder what they were saying. I can’t seem to stop thinking about this case. Sarah’s family must be going through some amount of torment. Totally depressing I feel horrendous for them.
I feel the same way. This is one of the most disturbing cases, that I can't shake from my head and I've read about so many. It's the stuff of nightmares, what happened to this wonderful lady. I feel so bad for her family and hope they can heal from this and remember how she lived and not how she died.

I just hope Couzens time in jail is miserable beyond belief. The Sarah Everard case has seriously stuck in my mind I’ve felt quite depressed for afew days now ruminating about what must have happened to her during the 80 mile journey and everything else. Sickening.

We will quite likely never know exactly what happened, unless Couzens has a rush of conscience and truthfully tells all. The only other person who could count for exactly what happened is Sarah herself, and she is tragically not here to tell us. What a horrific case all round. Easily one of the worst I've heard.

Anti Duck@ A former colleague of mine, copper got sent down. He said he was treated on the whole very well by the staff. He said a couple of them were great, and got him a job quickly etc. But on the whole, he said they were all professional with him. Had no complaints.

I used to an advocate of the death penalty but thinking time is a good punishment but I would keep him on basic for his whole life tariff regardless of his status as a model prisoner if he becomes that 👍
Thats the flip side. While he's alive, he has human rights(unfortunate but true) so he has to be treated the same as any other prisoner of his security grade. The ONLY reason I'm against the death sentence is because our justice system dosent always get it right.
The morbid fascination thing always gets me. I 'understand' it, people look at these things, it's curiosity. I drive past these events and I just look away. I've discovered bodies, dealt with the rot, seen the shapes people can take after violent deaths and it's fucking horrible and I hate.that people want to see it but that's humans. The car was probably hired because a brand new (or near enough) Vauxhall could be passed off as a legit unmarked police vehicle. Not all of them are fitted with lights, radios etc. and are just normal cars that sit in a carpool for police staff and detectives to use during the day. I was thinking this months ago and the judge actually said the same thing during his sentencing remarks. Apparently Couzens had claimed he rented the car due to "problems" with his own SEAT, but it was examined and found to be in fine working order - indeed he even bundled her into it, drove to the remote area and that's where it all tragically ended. He then merrily drove around in it like nothng had happened. Although the judge said it was "extremely untidy" and wasn't anything like a proper police vehicle, so any victim would have smelled a rat.
People are already petitioning the Prison Service to try and prevent him from ever being moved into Full Sutton. That's just 6 miles from York, she grew up there and her funeral was held there, her parents live there, so having that piece of garbage on their doorstep would likely be very distressing and insensitive.

Some prefer a life of solitary within prison one of which was Crip McWilliams (INLA Crumlin Road Prison, A Wing).., he rose to fame as being the one who murdered Billy Wright (LVF).., I could tell you a few stories about him!.., but during the good friday agreement the INLA refused to abide by the terms of the agreement and therefore he didnt get out.., Crip was a hard man (as were most of us after a year in the crumlin road).., prison does things to a human being that removes the (human) aspect and reverts back to animalistic behaviour.., many talk of fight or flight but living under constant threat the flight bit dosnt really factor into things.., I feel confident Sam that you seen this behaviour many times over your career in the prison service.., people come into the system relatively level headed but after a few months they change into something else.., (I did).., hope is all we really have and when you take hope away from a human being what you get is a caveman.

@@RealPorridgePodcast what do you put that down to with some of these high profilers where theres just no thinking about the cover up, or at least a very shoddy attempt at a cover up? Youd think if someone was going to plan a crime which he obviously did, theyd make more of an effort on the back end. What would you put that down to mate?🤔
The car was probably hired because a brand new (or near enough) Vauxhall could be passed off as a legit unmarked police vehicle. Not all of them are fitted with lights, radios etc. and are just normal cars that sit in a carpool for police staff and detectives to use during the day.
I was thinking this months ago and the judge actually said the same thing during his sentencing remarks. Apparently Couzens had claimed he rented the car due to "problems" with his own SEAT, but it was examined and found to be in fine working order - indeed he even bundled her into it, drove to the remote area and that's where it all tragically ended. He then merrily drove around in it like nothng had happened.
Although the judge said it was "extremely untidy" and wasn't anything like a proper police vehicle, so any victim would have smelled a rat.
Why would he commit such a hrendus crime when he know exactly what will happen to him inside 🤔

People are already petitioning the Prison Service to try and prevent him from ever being moved into Full Sutton. That's just 6 miles from York, she grew up there and her funeral was held there, her parents live there, so having that piece of garbage on their doorstep would likely be very distressing and insensitive.
He'll be looked after off the screws. All the times I've spent in jail yous look after all the nonces better than us normal cons. Obviously just following orders I get that but it's wrong
Some prefer a life of solitary within prison one of which was Crip McWilliams (INLA Crumlin Road Prison, A Wing).., he rose to fame as being the one who murdered Billy Wright (LVF).., I could tell you a few stories about him!.., but during the good friday agreement the INLA refused to abide by the terms of the agreement and therefore he didnt get out.., Crip was a hard man (as were most of us after a year in the crumlin road).., prison does things to a human being that removes the (human) aspect and reverts back to animalistic behaviour.., many talk of fight or flight but living under constant threat the flight bit dosnt really factor into things.., I feel confident Sam that you seen this behaviour many times over your career in the prison service.., people come into the system relatively level headed but after a few months they change into something else.., (I did).., hope is all we really have and when you take hope away from a human being what you get is a caveman.
