It is possible it could also have been being used as a stereotype of other cultures given Japan does understand what that stereotype that appears means, as well as various other ones. In addition there is beef amongst these cultures and it's not all a monolith. Interesting enough while the comic is non canon there is an accurate element of it within MarioTalesverse which existed before the MarioMovieverse. As Miyamoto put it _"she has never seen herself as 'protected' by Mario. Our image of her is one of strength. Many of the developers came from homes where the Mother wears the boots, you know. (laughs) We hope to keep using Peach in different games in the future."_ The MarioMovieverse having Bowser in love with Peach from the start is somethings that differentiates it from the MarioTalesverse. In the games Bowser was not originally in love with Peach, and his invasion was purely conquest. They did have the idea for him to be in love with Peach at the time via the OVA, but it wasn't established as canon yet. This is evident by the fact in games like SMB3 and SMW kidnapping Peach is an after thought for Bowser, and he was already in the middle of invasions. It wasn't until SMRPG and especially PM64 did Bowser develop feelings. The comics using this idea of Bowser being in love with Peach is somethings that does differentiate it from the games. Since the the Adventures comics is a loose adaptation of SMW.
This video is full of so many misinformation. The comic came out on 1992 it appear in nintendo power for a year. I know cause I own those issues. Peach didn't get cause at the start. After bowser turn some of the toads and mario into stone she ran after him then got caught. For the record peach in the comic was better then the one in the movie. Luigi been writing to be a scare since the mario cartoons. The mario and wario comic is not a origin story. It was made to cash in on mario land 2. Unknow to most people the first super mario land game is where the idea of a villain wanting to marry a princess started. They reuse the idea for peach and bowse many times over the years.
@@INFERNO95 yeah I added annotations for some of my misspeaks but honestly I probably should have tried to re-record a lot of it, one of the issues of not scripting and just kind of going off the cuff. Any plot inaccuracies was just mis-speaking on my part in addition to not wanting to do a beat for beat of the plot, but I honestly didn't know the comic was from 1992 my research brought up '93 so honestly thanks. Misinformation was definitely not the intention so I appreciate the comment
Gotta love the Mario Jojo face panel lol made me laugh
Same 🤣, I knew I needed to use that one in the video
I remember the Super Mario Adventures book. And I watched a lot of Mario videos, and played a bit. I imagine a lot of stuff from the Mario franchise.
That's fair, it's a fun franchise to think about
Great video!
Thanks man
And it's a shame there isnt more of this fine comic adaptation....
@@richclarkson8917 Agreed, it's a lot of fun

Solid insight, thanks!
There’s Wario’s Woods and I mostly think about it.
I haven't played that one much, played Wario Land 3 on the Game Boy Color quite a bit though
@@dogface701 I watched Wario land gameplay. We had a Wario Game but I think I scratched it. I don't remember, but if I do correctly then I feel bad.
@purpleowlarts1539 that's rough buddy
@@dogface701 yep. Honestly, and we lost 2 Nintendo consoles.
@@purpleowlarts1539 same on that one, what I wouldn't give to still have my N64 or GameCube
