If it makes you all feel better, this is only an alternate reality, the real 2399 never left Jupiter’s surface, and was obliterated by Jupiter’s moon after Dr. Bright somehow launched the moon into the red spot

On "The Last Man" story file on the wiki, the saddest part is arguably the ending. It ends with him making daily transmissions to the Site and he see's the Alien structure in the live feed camera, and it gives a transmission "All primary systems destroyed: Mission aborted". The last line alludes to Beckett either laughing or crying.Which after reading it a few times and going through comments, can mean that humanity technically "won" in destroying it.
But then why is humanity eradicated then? Since all of its primary systems were destroyed in the blast when it made contact. And that the machine was apparently on a "mission" to earth. It didn't say "mission successful" because humanity was destroyed. Whether its systems were broken or not i believe it would count that as a victory if it was its primary objective. It said "Mission Aborted". As in, it cannot complete its mission in its damaged state. It's mission, was NOT to destroy humanity at all. But for something else.
So we can argue that if it came to earth, it might not have posed as big of a threat as they feared. But those thousands of nukes powerful enough to wipe humanity out 1000 times over, that they launched at it however...
I think Beckett realized that the alien machine didn't end the world...

People have chaimed to spot the moon, but scientists looked and found that this moon is noticeably missing from Jupiter's orbit and concluded that it must be a hoax. I was making a really elaborate joke that explains the Chiron mystery in a funny twist by saying that the moon actually did exist and that Dr. Bright threw it at 2399 and was the reason Chiron is no longer an existing moon .

Depends if it’s counting Jupiter’s days or earth’s. If counting earths you would be correct, if counting Jupiter’s it would make sense. Jupiter’s days last ~7 hours, which is over a third times shorter than earth’s, meaning there area few months worth of time to spare for before he set off.

About the point about the "Anti-Matter weapons"
A projectile containing anti-matter would not be able to escape Jupiter's atmosphere, however, provided that they had some sort of "casing" that would only release anti-matter in the trajectory to intercept Earth, the vacuum of space isn't really a vacuum. Hydrogen and helium atoms do still exist in space.
However, something they did get correct was the Anti-matter weapon. If any weapon of that size and composition was to impact the earth, resulting in a 100% energy release, would most probably, and most likely, end with a devastating effect. (FYI, When anti-matter collides with matter, there is a 100% energy transfer.) (not to be confused with anti-mass, they're two different substances)

I think this pararell universe's SCP foundation is severely weak. Normally they have countermeasure (or resurrection) against all kind of world-end event.

As I understand it, there are three reasons why 2000 hasnt activated yet:
1. 2000 has been eliminated
2. the Planet is uninhabitable, and 2000 waits until it is
3. because 2399 is still in the Atmosphere, 2000 is waiting until it disappears

A long time ago in 6th grade I had crutches and I wasn't allowed on the elevator by myself, I needed someone else with me.

Humanity should really start admitting that they're destroying a place that was once filled with happiness and good days and animals. Humans should start fixing their mistakes. If they don't, we're gonna have to start calling another year worse than 2020. And I'm pretty sure most people are already struggling to survive the effects of what's happening right now. So they won't like that. Forget like, they won't stand a chance against their civilization's own mistakes.

We are part of Nature, and Nature's also a bitch. I would expect humans to be egoistic, harsh and violent because that is what Nature and animals are as well - I would be alot more surprised if we actually started improving our living space; that's when we would rise above Nature.
Right now I'd say we're either on the level with- or a bit above Nature and other animals, because Nature is without morality and ethics.
