- I was re-tagged by Eva, shadow6326, after I tagged her. Is that even legal? ;-) Oh well, I finally got a few minutes to rattle this off. Thanks to my rambling I had to split it into two. Good grief!

Wahhha! Liz I typed a big long response to you yesterday and YT ate it! Yes, mom in Iowa and Aunt Joyce in California are way too far away. You can't hug on the phone. I wish I was wealthy and didn't have to work so I could hop on a plane and be there. Your response created a lengthy discussion between hubby and I about if compassion and empathy are synonyms. We had no conclusion, but enjoyed disecting the meanings of the words! LOL The Thesaurus uses them interchangably. I'm such a word geek!
Deb! You just started and all of a sudden you were at 9:45! I never watch videos that long, but it went by so fast. First, best wishes to you and your Mom. It is so hard when they are ill and you're so far away. Between that and the financial markets, I'm sure this has been a REALLY rough week for you. Ouch. Loved your answers. Happiness for our least favorite people = perfect. I also love compassion for all, but I'd add empathy. Together that might stop terrorism, child abuse and so on!

LOL Judy, you would probably go nuts being around me long, I get easily distracted (look, there's a chicken!) and sometimes the conversation goes awry. Helps that Rafe has a photographic memeory and can usually remember where my brain parked! ;-) Brave girl going on to part two! LOL
Seriously, we'd love it if you make it out here! Yeah, I love to dissect words too. Based on how it's used and my personal bias, I take empathy to mean understanding of others emotions and experiences while compassion to me is more of a sympathy issue. Perhaps I've taken it wrong but hey don't confuse me with the facts, I've already made up my mind! LOL. Wishing your Mom all the best!
Thanks, Kim, she is feeling better, but she is also 85 and not in stellar health, so we are taking it a day at a time. Thanks for watching me ramble!
