iZurvive topographic maps’ contour lines are a really good way to keep on track. Along side other basic land nav of coarse! The sun, stars, elevation, and general area references generally do the trick. It’s always worth having a compass if available, never good to need it though.
Your presentation style is really smooth and relaxed, it’s so enjoyable and informative for a fairly new player like myself. Am looking forward to the next video how to have a good mid game as I need help gaining a foothold and establishing a solo base, am tired of getting to town 2 or 3 then dying and starting afresh.

I was dying when you had the zombies kill that dude. These guides are great. Ive been playing on and off for about a month. I can consistently get to where you're at by the end of the video, but i dont know what to do next. Or i get killed by wolves. Wolves are tricky for me.

Really enjoying the vids. Played for the first time yesterday. Made it to somekind of medical camp with zombies in the yellow hazard suits. But as I was exiting that area I ran into another player who immediately shot me. All I was able to say was Yo. 😅. If it wasn’t for your vid’s there is no way I would have survived that long.
HAhaha, sometimes a YO will be responded to with bullets. Do it again, and have a gun next time to shoot back with after the YO isn't received well :P
I’ve been playing Dayz for about a year, and getting lost in the woods and ending up back where you started is easier than you think so that tip about not moving with the mouse is one of the best, great informative vid thanks dude many many good tips thank you ❤

Hunting vests HAD protection in earlier versions of the game. Now only stab, press and plate offer damage reduction stats.

Great series Cam... The few hours I played I felt like exploring so I was in the buildings way to long. And I had a hard time to see the objects. I played scum a lot and you have to search in things, boxes etc... In DayZ it is in the open but hard to see and regonize... Tysm for the series ❤

New player struggling here! Really trying to find the joy in this game, so many things are easy to learn and apply but with DayZ I have found it impossible to assume and find the best ways to play. Your videos are absolutely amazing and to learn as much as you teach and enjoy it all the while carries my desire to play. Knowing things can get easier and as enjoyable as you make it look. It still seems endlessly harder for some reason on Xbox but nonetheless my hopes remain.

Really enjoying the series - thanks for all the work that goes into this! How do you feel about the Firefighting gear for fresh spawns when it's available/convenient?
Firefighter gear is great starting off because of the great insulation and good slots. As you move inland it will become not great because it is HIGHLY visible. Happy you're enjoying the vids.
On console, it feels like there are more Zs and your char. moves much slower.
Maybe it's just the overall ability to control your characters movement being limited on console that makes it feel this way. I am nearly certain they are indentical.
Maybe your fov is lower than his. Higher fov makes it seem like they run faster but they are the same
There aren't more Zs and you don't move slower. The controls are obviously worse though. You won't be able to kite zombies into buildings as easily as he does. Of course he also has 6,000 hours. It's obviously way harder to loot quickly and just use the inventory quickly in general. Like matter how good you get on console you won't be able to say do heli crash the way he did where he looted around the whole copter fast enough to not get swarmed by zombies. You'll basically need either a few people to melee the zombies or you'll have to shoot them. Plus as easy as it is to get shot on PC while you are messing with your inventory, loading clips, cooking whatever it's even easier on console. But everyone is dealing with the same limitations and you'll get better at it.

Since he's getting into slightly more advanced stuff here's something I learned the hard way...
Unless you absolutely have to, try not to cook, to go to the water pump, or even loot in the towns that are right next to high level loot areas like army bases. These are the spots where the high level players, often in teams, will be doing all that stuff before or after they hit those high level loot areas. Or simply passing through on the way to or from these places.

Here a tip if it's raining or it's dark and you don't want to be out in either. Just log out and log back in when the rain stops or it's light again.

yeh mate you need to make more of these, alot of DayZ tutorials either have loads of music or someone with an annoying voice and a massive ego, you have none of that. These are one of a kind.
Addicted to these guides. I have a Q! It may just be correlation, but I found a few times taking pills before bandaging with dirty rags, I didn't get sick. Was I just kicky or are they good emergency preventatives?

Zombies are the game's way of giving you loot you need. The amount of loot that I needed that came to me from agro zombies is too many to count.
Play as if someone has spotted you and is hunting you, waiting to shoot you through a window or when standing still.
You were being nice to him and he would take 5 hits from zombies just to try and punch you lmao
One thing you should mention is that PD loot spawns in the neighboring buildings of the PD if they’re close enough
He has a lot more hours than I do but just pointing out that the vast consensus is you CAN eat rotten fruits and veggies. Some people say you're good if you just eat one rotten fruit or veggie in a certain amount of time. Some people say you have to eat them a few bites at a time. Few bites, wait for your arrows to go back down, eat a few more bites. Personally I've never gotten sick off of them eating them. Maybe don't do it if you have a M4 and a plate carrier but if your fresh Id eat them. If you're starving. Eat them.
I want to see how to fix the main problem I have in the game , how to avoid being sick or how to heal from it

5:05 isn't there a chance of loot spawning on the beds? I remember finding ammo and food there sometimes. I always check these beds in all houses in TAB. Or I'm tripping and it was an old feature that got changed by the devs? Because I've played like 5 years ago and then dropped the game until now, so I'm not really sure
Oh they still spawn there, they spawn everywhere.

Im surprised how little you check fruit trees. They usually help a great deal with hydration and food in my runs.

If you find rotten food 3 bites wait for the things under your hunger to go down and repeat
I recently switched to M&K, very new to the controls of it. When you automatically equip something to your character like clothing, are you clicking and hold dragging that certain piece of clothing to your character and letting go automatically swapping out clothing like that or no??

But if you double click clothing it'll just go into your inventory. You drag and drop on your model in the inventory screen. Hope that helps.

Part 3 of you being wrong about eating rotten food bruh. Player since day one almost here. The way to eat rotten is 3 to 4 bites at a time at 2-3 minute intervals depending on how many bites. 3 bites wait 2 minutes. 4 bites wait 3 minutes. NOTE: this does not apply for rotten uncooked food, raw meat. That will 100% F you up after just one bite. SECOND NOTE: having your stats at full white will enable you to eat almost anything normally (see exception above) and not get sick. Good tip here is to save your multivitamins for when your stats hit yellow and/or you have to go out into the wet cold without proper insulation or heat buff. Always rely on your nutrient buffs. Save the vitamins, they'll go further that way.
Third I really recommend you loot wooden out houses they can spawn anything even food, police, medical, and military supplies. I've found tier 3 mags in poop houses when the whole town was looted simply due to their proximity to the military camp. FINAL NOTE: always loot adjacent buildings. Not just the hospital will spawn loot, but the cars in the parking lot and the shed behind it in the neighbors yard also can spawn medical loot.
Cant edit my comment but the time frame was wrong I'm used to hardcore servers. Vanilla official it doesnt take more than 30 seconds to a minute between bite cycles.

@@camcantrun you should probably listen to a player who's been here since the start almost lol just dont eat rotten meat and stay away from the mystery cans! forgot about the cans of unknown meat. dont even risk it, the risk is way too high.
I've seen a lot of videos where the creator ate mystery cans of food by spacing out the eating. Mostly it is done in 4 quarters but I have seen it a time or 2 it was a half can at a time. @@thefuzzypage
@@edmartin875 ive never had good luck with mystery cans so i avoid them out of principle but the mechanic works for all bad food except meat far as im aware. rotten meat will make you sick 100% of the time
What about animals, do they follow you inside the buildings? On console they do, even two story upstairs.
Animals will aggro to your location, normally they'll stay outside buildings but they can come inside certainly. There is absolutely 0 difference between console version and PC version from what I understand.

So I have influenza, coughing sneazing, sweating. No grunting or vomiting. I have full white food, water, blood, health, and temp is fine. But Im at 1/4 stamina. Thats never happened to me. Why is that? Popped 3 tetras and Im still sick.

You have 6000 hours in the game and you can't tell the difference between a base being built and a raided base? The rest of the video was great. Lots of good advice and the player fight was hilarious. Just the two bases you saw were old bases that got raided.
