Never skip a tool song, Newtons long lost law.
I think Trump actually signed it into law this year also
@DabberDan aw, c'mon!!
@@davidsan9654
Lol. Like there has been any legislation under this completely impotent administration. Dudes who havent gotten a stiffy in decades laugh at these guys. Of course most of em voted trump in 2016... so that's another key block he's turned against him.
@@billhicks6449 damn dude, you looked way too far into that joke for someone named bill Hicks lmao
@DabberDan Marry Christmas.

H. is a personal favorite of mine, it might not have the crazy time signatures they are known for, but it's just perfect to me - especially looking forward to it
Personal favorite as well. Phenomenal tune!
Shane Hawk It’s super haunting. I get lost in it as well.
H is a classic
Honestly what I loved about H when I first heard it was that, when that guitar part came in leading into the verse, it sounded like it could've been an odd meter. The chorus to Fear Inoculum gave me that vibe too. They know how to give their songs that "floating" feel even when they are just writing in 4/4 or 6/8.
H. Is easily one of my top 3 off that album.
Never skip a Tool song, NEVER!
You could maybe be forgiven for skipping some of the interludes...but they're necessary for the full album experience
Except for the filler ones that are short trippy filler shite...unless you are LEGIT in the acid tripping mood for the weirdness within those filler songs.
There are a couple skippable tunes on the new album though. Just sayin...
Culling Voices? yawn. BUT!!! That's still impressive. Out of all their albums, there are only a few skippable tunes? Most artists have skippable albums. lol
@@jamesflagg4824 even a yawn tune is enjoyed by SOMEONE. You never know, he might like it.
Plus, it's sacrilegious to skip a Tool song without hearing it at least once 😁
@@jamesflagg4824 BOO
Tool has interludes and filler tracks that are skippable..But never their full length tracks. Every single one is worth hearing.
Eulogy was my favourite Tool song for a loooong time! It's still top 3!
What are your top 3?
@@jorgenricardo So hard. Pneuma, Invincible, Eulogy, Right in Two, Sober...all of them....Dammit
MY exact thoughts
Jimmy one of their most underrated imo
and super heart-wrenching if you consider his reason for writing the song
Under a dead Ohio sky.....
My favorite tool song and probably just favorite song ever!!
In my opinion, nothing out of Aenima, Lateralus, or 10000 Days should be skipped.
Or Undertow for that matter
@@trivialodinhammer I think all songs on Undertow are good but other than Intolerance, Bottom, Sober, and Swamp Song, I don't feel like the others are so special. But maybe I need to give them some more listens.
@@Saeedd01 Prison Sex 😤
@@Saeedd01 definitely give Undertow more listens, it's my latest favorite album. They're all my favorite but Undertow is special. Maynard was still raw as hell and putting it all out there, working through things with us. I've been giving it special attention the last month, with my new adult mind [meaning I'm not the 17yr old I was when I did it the first time around] and I'm coming to understand it in a whole new way.
Or Fear Inoculum.
Since you can "hear" Tool, I would recommend you not skip any track. When you get to the song Jimmy, make sure you include Intermission before it. It's short and kinda cheezy but the way it transitions into Jimmy is badass.
Agreed!
I was going to say that as well. One of my favorite parts of the album.
Totally agree!
I'm not so much worried about intermission as I am that the listener reasearch a little about Jimmy before listening. Took me years to do so. Cry every time now lol
Push it Salival. Trust me
Third eye you lied and no quarter too. Salival reaction anyone?
@@timfarrow1545 I love both of you. Salival underrated as fuck.
Skip a Tool song? NEVER!!! 😠🤘

When will you react to Flesh and the power it holds by Death? Or will you even react to them?
Give listen to Tool Ft. Layne Staley of Alice In Chains. Both bands toured together during the 90's. Fan of both bands
Keep me coming! In my opinion 10,000 days is their best you have to do that album next!. So many gems!
if you will find a bad song, you have to go to grande, gomez, swift, cyrus or gaga... there you will find much more than you ever thought before...^^
This was my favorite Tool song until Descending came along.
Yes Descending took over for me as well...don't know what can compare to those beautiful guitar solos.
Likewise.
Lol, Descending was my least favorite song until I heard it about 5 times, it grew to become my favorite!
@@jeremiahmackay226 I always liked when the band would play it live before the album came out, and then the night the album actually released I heard the recorded song for the first time and was just blown away
Pneuma is my favorite on the new album, followed closely by Descending. I still would say Eulogy is my favorite on Aenima. Both Descending and Pneuma are AMAZING. Although, Invicible is really good too!
i think Eulogy, H., reflection and The Patient are easily the most underrated tool songs that are actually all genius and amazing just like the top hits
The closest you'll get to a shit song is an interlude, but although they might not be good "songs", you'll at least understand special things like why rabbits should wear glasses
YES! 😂
Excellent post! "These are the cries of the carrots!"
life feeds on life feeds on life feeds on life... This Is Necessary
I use the rev.maynard on Xbox live
Or how to make marijuana pound cake.
Drew: So far Adam Jones is the standout on this track...Justin comes in at a close second.

Danny Carey: Am I a joke to you??
😂 👍
DC: Hold my beer...
Don’t try this at home if you love your brain 🤪
More like 6:35
Definitely glad you didn't skip it!! Very few Tool tracks are even able to be skipped
Very few??? You and I have different definitions of very few. Unless of course by "very few" you mean "none at all".
@@1monsterthumb welp.. off their newest album, Mockingbeat is a pointless track especially being the last one on the album.
On 10,000 days, Lipan Conjuring is pretty skippable.
On Lateralus, Mantra is a skippable track.
On Ænima, Useful Idiot, Cesaro Summability, and Ions are all quite skippable.
Undertow and Opiate has zero tracks that can be skipped.
Therefore, very few tracks that can be skipped.
@@94clutz I would argue that those are all interludes or Bridges and not songs. But that's just me.
@@94clutz ok, I see now. Tracks not songs. My bad. I need to learn to read.
Sick reaction! H. Is also sick
Very happy you aren't skipping any songs! This is the right way to experience Tool 😊 Cant wait for you to go through the 10,000 Days album. ROSETTA STONED!!!
Vicarious, Jambi, The Pot, Right in Two.
he hasnt even gotten to the best album, Lateralus!!! 10,000 days can wait.
Pneuma, Invincible, Eulogy, Right in two, Sober... All of them
When you see it live you’ll realize that sound you could not is his voice through a megaphone
H is Maynard’s son’s middle name lolol
You’re both right
So if Jesus (H Christ) is his son, Maynard must be God. It makes sense now!
Devo H Keenan
When they originally played this song live they called it “half empty” I believe. So that may be where it comes from as well
michael perry h is 100 percent about heroin
So glad you are going in order. This is going to be great! Looking forward to H. next.
Third Eye, it's on the same album. It will change your ear holes forever.
He was asking for a shit song on this album and that's definitely one.
Watching your joy as you listened to this was contagious... and I've already heard it more times than I can count. Thank you for not skipping it. ❤️
Cannot wait to see you react to Lost Keys/Rosetta Stoned and their No Quarter cover
Don't skip any songs on this album. They're all bangers.
Don’t skip H either!!!!
You are awesome! And your face when the guitar came in was priceless.
Thank you!
That melody at the start is Maynard's mic. He sings the melody and flicks the mic on and off.
Its actually a megaphone he sings through. The sound at the very beginning is picking the guitar between the bridge and the string stop.
I think it's Adams guitar...he's hammering on notes with his left hand onto the fret board...I could be wrong
@@davidsan9654 Could be mate. Just remember from seeing them back when he used to front & centre. Memory is him doing it.....but we know how memories go....
@@davidsan9654 He is definitely picking the strings between the bridge and string stop.I have a Les Paul and it sounds exactly like it, plus I saw him play it live in 2014 that way.
@@rx7dude2006 That's awesome, must have been a hell of a show. I would have gotten tickets to see them play NY this year but couldn't get off from school/work
This one is my all time favorite ❤
Eulogy is one of my favorite songs on this album.
The initial “clicking” at the beginning of the song is from Adam Jones guitar..
My favorite song for as long as you've been alive...
Tool's greatest track. I always throw this one down when asked about my fave tool song. I sometimes debate it with a few other songs, but everytime I hear it, it quickly ends the debate in my own mind. And its about goddamn Bill Hicks! The Doctor!!
I'm pretty sure it's about L. Ron Hubbard. Though I completely agree it's my favourite Tool song as well.
Great video, Drew! Thank you for your videos
As has been mentioned, it's both Maynard's middle initial (Herbert) and his son Devo's middle initial (Helio). I absolutely love this album and H is my favorite on the album. Enjoy!
So glad you’re still reacting to Tool. The rest of this album is great as is 10,000 days. Can’t wait.
Was wondering if you were planning on reacting to more Deftones? I love them. Digital Bath is a great song as is My Own Summer. Would really enjoy more reactions from them.
Great as always ❤️
This is definitely one of their best! So glad you did this one. Eventually man you have to get to the 10,000 days album!
Love these videos. You should read lyrics while listening to the songs too. Im excited to see you go back in time and see Tools evolution back to when they were more metal than philosophical.
Oh can't wait you to listen to Third Eye. THIRD FUCKING EYE. Probably my favorite song, it's the representation of a drug trip, it's simply incredible. Keep it going man!
Love your work man - I discovered Tool at 21 and was blown away.
Lifelong Tool fan now at 34!!
Listening to every Tool reaction (might check out a few of your others while I’m at it haha) from Australia 🇦🇺
Great reaction. Every Tool album has a handful of gems, and always great. The die hards s off at the notion of “ best songs” when it comes to Tool. Got my subscription, keep it up at your own pace man. All the best.
Saludos desde México, en ciudad Juárez, nice reaction!, solid
Great videos! I'm binge watching. This is probably my favorite song on the album.
So good!!!! 🤘🏻
I'm already so excited to hear H from you.
This album is my personal favorite. Most say lateralus is their magnum opus and it is, but I will always love aenima most. So many songs on it that totally changed me as a teenager.
wasn't expecting you to do really do the whole thing! pleasant surprise!
One of my favorite Tool songs, very underrated. Thanks for reacting!
My favourite song on the album for a long time - well, honestly, all of them have taken that place at one point!............................. Just wait for HOOKER!
Keep em coming bro. Still my fav reaction channel.
Armitage D ❤️🙏🏻
Mine too
Nice! Been lookin forward to this! :0D
Eulogy is one of my favs. Glad you did it
Nice one, dude 👍
I was wondering what one should do to keep one‘s mind open, but it happens all by itself 😃
Always fun to see your tool reactions!!
Wish I could see a reaction video of myself listening to tool for the first time😅😅
Every single song I listened by tool🤘
this is my personal favorite tool song really crazy good.
You seem like a cool dude. Great reactions! Howdy from Texas!
Still my favorite tool album. Start to finish it’s flawless. And I’m a fan of the shorter songs generally. APC is my preferred Maynard vehicle. But Tool is unbeatable in terms of musical mastery.
Well hopefully whoever hit you in that eye taught you never to skip a tool song.....it happens
😂😂😂
H. next I'm hype. Great review!
Just subscribed , lol hearing you mention stinkfist reminds me of me playing it on my radio at work and a management person asks , what is this song about ? lol , oh my god , it was so funny , I told him I would rather he look it up . He came back laughing his ass off . All he could say was "'Oh my god , they really said that ! " ! Eulogy is my favorite song from tool
The sound you are trying to work out in the start is Maynard. I saw this live in London in 1996 at The Astoria, the album had not yet been released, and we were going boots in just based off Opiate and Undertow. Suffice to say, my mind was blown. Life long memory will always be seeing Pushit for the first time, LIVE!!!! And Third Eye?? OMG!!!! But I digress. I remember seeing Maynard using what looked like a small kind of mouth organ, that he was kind of blowing, kind of (not singing ) but making a vocal noise. It definitely stuck in my head, because a little while later when the album dropped I was triggered straight away, transported right back to the gig, hearing Maynard do that strange thing. When the vocals kick in, you can hear the same tone in his voice.
for sure my favorite reaction channel
❤️
Love your content.. keep going back with tool, gotta get all the songs and albums in lol I'm sure you'll like em and see the progression of the band over the decades 😁😍 you noticed the songs have gotten longer and more progressive/ philosophical. Truly an experience, especially live! 🤩
It's so hard to pick a favorite from Tool's discography because their sound is so legendary throughout, but if I had one, it'd be Intolerance from their Undertow album because of how raw and passionate it is. I can't wait to see your reaction of that song!
I like. I've commented before. I support. Hope this takes you to where you want to be ;)
Cant wait till we get to pushit
H. is one of my fav. songs on this album
The Experience of the Journey thru the musical brilliance that is Tool Euphoria.
Yessssss
I subscribed for this, and also your badass accent.
Nice reaction, probably one of your best TOOL reactions so far. Yeah, never skip a song by them, especially if the decision to skip a song is predicated on low view counts over multimedia platforms, one song skipped could potentially rob oneself of any number of emotional, spiritual, mind-altering or even life-changing journeys on which this band is able to take the listener.
Funny enough, Eulogy is my alarm sound in the morning and it´s an amazing way to wake up.
Never skip a TooL song. The eleventh commandment.
This song has always had a special place in my godless, atheistic heart
Haha same
This comment needs to be pinned at the top :)
Makes my god filled heart overflow :) but I wont hate on your belief. seeing how I can't disprove it or prove it right or wrong.
theydisintegrate crazy how Maynard is and I quote “God bless” After this tour when he leaves the stage! And his podcast on Apple Music he said and I quote “God bless him”@ Justin Bieber @ the whole #bummer bit! Maynard at older age is coming around @ Jesus!! Hee is the way and the light!@ Jesus Christ!! Before you get all atheist on me. Why would MJK say those things about “God/Jesus “ after writing a song like Eulogy!???🙏🏼🤘🏼💯
@@1999lateralus ever thought he was saying those things in the same context as the way this song is writeen.... satire. you believe whatever you like though man, you have every right to. at the end of the day noone actually knows what is out there, so proving or disproving means absolutely nothing. whatever makes you happy should be your choice. i personally don't believe in any religion, but i wont take it away from you
I'm in on this journey 100%. I don't even care if you don't like things, I just like that you have an open mind and speak truth to it. I don't have to say it, but be you.
My man Raymond!
My favorite Tool song.
Looks like someone told him once (in his left eye) to never skip a TOOL song, guess he got the message LOL. Just teasing man, love your reactions, cant wait to hear H.
left eye... isnt that tlc...? great band by the way too...
they're masters of poly-rhythmic grooves. there are plenty of prog/art metal bands that use odd meters and poly-rhythms but few can get you nodding away through them!
Please do Pushit, Album version, darkest Masterpiece ever made....
Glad you’re taking t he Tool journey. So many top Tools songs!
This song is so overlooked it breaks my heart.
Great tune .I think it's real heavy ,to just love the way that riff sneaks in there TOOL.amazing band
Saw Tool last night in Houston....freaking epic show man!
Jealous man!
Pneuma was the highlight for me in the San Antonio show.
Wow, 22. That's about how old I was when Opiate came out and immediately hooked me.
Are you trying to tell us you are addicted to Opiate..?
When they perform this song live I believe that the beginning sound you were trying to figure out is actually Maynards voice through some distortion or megaphone.
Listening Moya" Godspeed You Black emperor" thanks bro!
Fast pace! Have you checked out Rosetta Stoned?
H is Justin’s first contribution to Tool if I remember the story correctly and one hell of a song.
Best reaction of this song :)
Oh! And the “clink” sound at the beginning I believe are claves programmed into Danny’s kit.
Looking forward to see your mind blown with Pushit. And when you listen to 10,000 days , Lost Keys/Rosetta Stoned will make you trip!!
I was 21 when I saw them in 91. Good for you.
Have lots of friends that just disappear....still searching for them...just because they skip a tool song👻👻. Big tool fan also!Rock on!!🤘
Yo, every song is the best song on every TOOL album..... period....... SPIRAL OUT, KEEP GOING 🤘
H is one of my favourite songs on the album
This will be played at my funeral one of my all time favorites
The sound in the intro that you referred to is Maynard singing into a megaphone, holding the notes, and rhythmically pressing the button on the megaphone. With headphones, you can hear him holding the notes. Also, the clicks that begin the song are guitar; Adam plays the A string palm muted behind the bridge with an overdrive/distortion activated.
Great great reaction Drew.. Please please do H. reaction next.. 🤘🙏
I got you man!
Watttt!!!!!???lol mornin..🔨
Man this is my favorite song from tool such a great song
