I absolutely love your channel, watching you inspires me to continue my channel. Also it is nice to see a couple enjoying this sort of thing together. I have a deep passion for exploring and finding items of the past.
It's interesting that old houses and hotels always have a water source. So many times it's a stream just like that one. Sometimes the creek beds are dry. Hard to imagine what life was like then. Thanks for the video. You found some great finds.
Thanks for downloading. Nice little treasures. They're probably not worth a whole heck of alot, but they sure are rich in memories. Johnny from Montreal, Canada.
Hey I love your videos. I am a crafter but watching your videos makes me wanna try metal detecting. And 2 I have family in Alabama and seeing this video kinda reminds of the mountain where my grandparents lived in Oneonta, Ala. Keep up the good work. Mechelle from NC
Your welcome. I just love hearing you call your wife your bride. It's so so sweet. My husband and I are thinking about doing some metal detecting here. Is there one you recommend? Thanks
We also have a place up here called Piedmont, in the province of Quebec, Canada. Its a big mountain in the forest located up North, in the Laurentians, about 60 miles off Montreal. I also grew up there in the 1970s and in the 1980s.There's full of ski ressorts as well. Piedmont is a french word meaning: " The foot of the mountain " in english. Thank you. Johnny T from Montreal, Canada.
Just found you on utube. So I'm a new subscriber now. I live on that mountain ridge down towards piedmont were this old hotel was. I'm surprise the owner agreed to letting you on to the property. There are two other old hotel from the 1800 in this area. It's hard to believe that there was more going on in these places 100 years ago than they are now. I would keep my eyes open for old wells. Piedmont has had some not so good history going all the way back to when we were Cross Plains and then the late 80's with the first federal drug kingpin trial. I think it's three people that are still missing so who knows what one may find digging in this area. Thanks for posting. I look forward to viewing more.
Not sure what a PM is? But the other two old hotel were one in Cherokee Country off hwy 278 from Piedmont goings toward the Georgia state line. It's a place they call Salem. The other one is in Cleburne Country passed Piedmont in what is known as Bolden Springs. The one in Bolden Springs was a big outfit with high rollers coming by way of the trains. I hope that was what you wanted. You can research both on the internet. I think a lot has been written about them. It's cool to see that you have over 10K people following you on youtube. You could be a star, if so I'm looking for a part time gig, I'm sixty and a little slow in getting around now. A lifetime of hard work has took it's toll on both body & mind. Sometimes my mind will leave for days at a time. I can't be held accountable for anything I do, anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking to it!!
I'm familiar with them just pretty far north of me. I'll be out that way in a few weeks maybe. I'm no star for sure. I could only provide you with a bottle of water and a ride in the back of the truck. Hours of fun huh
That was a huge patch of jonquils opposite the chimney. Also there are periwinkles all around the foundation. Those two and usually irises are almost always around old house places long after they have abandoned . Ever noticed that? Those have been favorite flowers for hundreds of years.
That is a beautiful old site. Too bad you couldn't find some silver. Unfortunately, you could probably fill a dump truck with the trash laying around there. Love your videos. HH!
There wasn't any trash pick-up in rural areas, so people threw their trash over the sides of hills. I've made a fortune from things I've found in creek beds. --Including bottles. That Dr. Pepper bottle is rare!
Lucky dog, those Dr Pepper bottles are pretty tough to find...I've found dozens of bottles in the woods and never found one like that. I always wanted one of those and a Buffalo Rock Ginger ale bottle from around the same period.
Yes, they’re (blue) VINCAs . Sometimes called creeping myrtle. Grow well just about anyway in US. Have them going through up to northern Michigan, including Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.😁🌸🌎
I liked that dog... and the tree... and this video. I've been told that Dr. Pepper bottles used those numbers for marketing - some factory workers were given breaks at 10, 2, & 4.
We had a Piedmont Springs Hotel here in the 1800s too. I wonder if by some chance the two are tied somehow? Piedmont Springs in East Texas if you want to read about it.
That is interesting I will look it up. Piedmont is a geographical something in the east, mountains thingy. Not sure how the Texas one ended up with the same name. I gotta know now! Thank you
man if you could buy half a acre around that chimney i would build a house around it and put it back to good use..thats an awesome looking chimney...1 similular to it in KY was found and a hoard of gold and silver found on it....the land owner and finder split the find not telling the Govt. and made out like bandits...i saw that on you tube around 7 or 8 years ago maybe 9 hell im old and cant remeber exactly when i saw it..good luck and hopefully 1 day you and your new bride will find something worthwhile like that, and HH- all finds are good but i mean a cache like the KY cache
I think you got it backwards. The area with the round steps, the pipe coming out of the ground is a earth ground rod for incoming power. The place on top of the hill was probably the "healing waters" because of the amount of iron in the water and the way the rocks are around it.
I collect old axe heads. If you ever want to get rid of any please give me a buzz. I only carve handles and make a visual history view. Enjoyed your film. I live in Chelsea. Don

Hi, is this video from the Hanging Rock State Park in NC? If so, how did you find this place? I live in NC and I would love to explore it! Thanks and great video!
I'm in the Appalachian Mountains of Virginia. Wandering around by yourself, don't you worry about bob cats or bears? Just found your channel & subscribed. 🎈
+Critter T Not really. There have been very few bear sightings around that area I was told and as far as bobcats, they stay hid out and never attack people unless cornered. There have a been one or two mountain lion sightings but this area has an abundant deer population & a bazillion turkeys so they stay full all the time. Thank you for watching and being concerned.
the Dr.pepper bottle say 10, 2 & 4. because during WW 2 sugar was rationed so they said drink one at those times made u more productive in the factory's that made supply's for the war. ( everything that was made was for the war) That's how they got the extra sugar to keep making soda....
The 10 two and four bottle is an old Dr Pepper bottle probably from the late 40s or early 50s. The 10 two and four was meant to remind you do you have a bottle every day at 10 two and four o’clock..
I realize you're not big on bottles for the simple fact that you're just not big on bottles. But just an idea to throw your way, if you see a bottle that looks half way interesting and you have the spare time at home, you may want to turn them into nice drinking glasses. Easy to cut and smooth out. Cleaning them out will be the really fun part.
Do you know what happened to your Garrett Carat? I just spent $935 ordering me an AT Pro, with headphones, and water prof headphones, the digger tools, and the camo bags, hat and some other things, and a Garrett Carat.. I ordered them because i thought they were a really good rugged set, And watching you diggers use them caused me to order them for myself, but now you say your Garrett carat didn't last very long!! lol.. So now that i'v wrote a book, do you happen to know what went wrong with your Garrett carat? Could it have gotten water in it from the penny hunts? lol..
+Calvin H. Yes it got water in it. I did not clean the seal and threads well when replacing batteries. BUT, I opened it up and cleaned the little thingies inside and it works great now. Don't regret it, it is really good. Thanks for watching, and clean the threads and lube the rubber seal each time you change the batteries.
I get so tickled. You say the craziest crap. Thanx for videos

That's my kind of spot, good location for old things.
I hope you checked under that Ball mason jar lid for possible paper money remnants.
It looked like some sort of isolater, the blue ceramic.
The Blue thing that had ANT on it was a lighting arrester for an old radio antenna, the other half would have had GND marked on it
+Scott Buckingham Cool thanks! And thank you for watching my videos.
I was very excited when you found that and BLUE too. Too bad it was broken

Dr Pepper was the energy drink of back in the day. I have one I found in a junk yard car has never been opened the content inside the bottle is faded.
04:17 a candlestick? great video!=)

that blue thing is an lightning arrester. I have one in brown glaze.
