This was filmed in South Korea. I'm currently residing in this country and one thing that really puzzled me when I first landed was how small petrolhead population is in here. Sighting cars like the Impreza, Evo etc is just plain impossible, they're harder to find than Ferraris. Loads of Hyundais, Kias and quite a few German ones out on the road but then 99% of them are boring sedans or SUVs in white/grey/black with either diesel or small petrol lumps. So it's a pleasant surprise to see a Korean made, high quality clip starring a Scooby doing what it's made for.
I greatly agree you dude as in I am korean (but living in the Philippines) and when i went to korea for vacation, I only saw boring cars and the only japan made car I saw was A PRIUS a friggin PRIUS. I just feel so relieved that there is a subaru in South Korea
P.s. As in HOW DID HE IMPORT AN IMPREZA IN SK?!?!? As in thats nearly impossible since it needs to pass various tests and it costs a ton.
it's called protectionism and any item not produced/made in the country is taxed heavily. Same reason there aren't many Audis, M-B, or BMWs rolling around Seoul. Owning a non-Korean brand car is ridiculously expensive. Shoot, even Nissans are rebadged as "Samsung Motors" in Korea to avoid that tax and you're left with the SM3/SM5/SM7 (Sentra/Altima/Maxima). There is a car culture there, despite very few red cars, but you have to look deep 'underground' to find it because of the expense.

Agree, when I were in Korea for holliday, I almost seen boring car there, the lux that i saw its only germany car, even I dont care abouth the new lux car there like mostly from Hyundai or Kia, it’s almost imposible to see any Old JDM cars.. lucky I only once saw the Lexus LC500 there.. in this video turn my mind that there is Old JDM car fans in S.K.. I love it!

The GDs are the last of the true WRX, anything after those honestly is more for the mass market/watered down. You can tell this solely by the design of the new ones

Most likely the case
I highly doubt the sounds are from that car. The audio doesn't match how the car moves during shifting gear. There's not much smoke either from exhaust pipes even though he "rips" the car quite hard in the audio.
