Nascar was awesome in the 1970 and 1980's. My favorite drivers were Richard Petty, Cale Yarborough and Terry Labonte. Thanks for sharing this awesome museum.
This video has taken me back in time when I used to work for Nascar, the first race I saw at Daytona was the right after Richard Petty retired and the first race for Jeff Gordon at Daytona. Through my 16 years of working for Nascar, I saw many legends including Buddy Baker, Junior Johnson, Ray Parks, Jerry Cook, Bill France, Dale Earnhardt (all drivers of the 1992 - 2011). My last race at Daytona was the day Dale Earnhardt, sr. died. I really haven't watched too many races since then.
kaymad can I ask you kind of a strange question I have a fire department t shirt collection in honor of my late oldest brother who I lost to cancer. and wondered if there is any way of getting a fire shirt from one of the groups who works at the NASCAR races I hope you can let me know thanks God bless
Thanks Jordan! NASCAR was one time a huge passion of mine. Even went to a race once! But I was an Earnhardt fan and when he died on the track it just broke my heart. I grew up watching the races on TV with my dad. RIP Dale senior!
I was saddened as well cause Mikey was one of my two fav drivers and how much it affected his life Kenny S. was my other fav and how sad it is that for the rest of his life he has that aweful memory of seeing Dale the way he was in the car take care
Hi Jordan, Current employer. You are correct that you're on a track. That section is called Glory Road. The exhibit below is called the Great Hall. You were standing on the embankment for Kansas and Richmond at 14', and that was Talladega at 33'. We change the cars every 3yrs. We had Alan K Hooters car on exhibit in 2019. That 76 ball is The Spotter Ball that's still active in Daytona and Talladega. Heritage Speedway is my favorite location because of all the history. You were in the Whelen Champions section where the original first trophies were Very awesome video!!
I'm a big Nascar fan and really appreciate you sharing this video Jordan. Rusty Wallace was my 1st favorite driver soo glad to see some of his cars n things there in the Nascar HOF museum. Awesome place, would love to see it one day. ❤
Wow Jordan I love this video I have been to Darlington and they have a museum there I had so much fun my seats were over the start finish line and the group Kansas were pre race. needless to say I was right where I could see everything.Sherry TN
Welcome to Charlotte. I hope you enjoy your time here. I’m a Richard Petty fan myself. There are lots of smaller racing museums all around the Charlotte area. Go check out the speedway too. Enjoy. Glad you finally made it here.
I have met Dale Earnhardt Sr in Bangor Maine at the chevy dealership and he signed a coke poster i have and an old Earnhardt Sr wallet i have. But i lost the wallet i think.. threw my divorces..
I've lived in North Carolina (Charlotte for over 30 years) all but 6 years of my life. I now live in Kannapolis (Dale Earnhardt home town) I too turned into a big nascar fan (history) in just last couple years
Finally, I was able to watch the vlog. As a NASCAR fan, I really enjoyed your visit to the Hall of Fame. A place I've not visited yet. However your video has stoked my fire even more to visit. Also, if you want to visit a really cool museum, go to the Wood Brothers Racing Museum, in Stuart VA. Open Monday-Friday 9-12 & 1-4. Free. If you're lucky one of the owners might be there. The last time I visited, years ago, the owners wife took us on a personal tour. Love your vlogs, you keep making them, I'll keep watching.
I love Nascar. I've always wanted to go to the museum. Jeff Gordon was my favorite driver. My friend Kim Childress is part of the Childress family. Thank you for doing this. I really enjoyed this. Probably the only way I would be able to see it. Stay safe and take care.
Jordan you may have noticed that truck that Bubba Wallace raced had a special paint scheme in tribute to the first Afro-American driver to compete in nascar and the first Afro- American driver to win a nascar race Wendell Scott. You may also have noticed the color of the truck was that familiar Petty Blue, that’s because the Richard Petty Family and Wendell Scott’s Family developed a lifelong Friendship. And Richard Petty used to help Wendell Scott out with racing equipment like tires and that special blend of paint that was known as Petty Blue. This was in the 60s in the Deep South at that. It really says a lot about the character of Richard Petty and his family.
My family went down there in may and it was amazing seen so many amazing museums and stuff u should go to welcome North Carolina to see the Richard childdres museum it’s full of all the original Earnhardt cars
My daughter Daytona she was born Friday 13th and shes named after Dale Earnhardt Sr.... and its my 3rd divorce 🤦♂️🤣.. but i got 3 little kids with my 3rd ex wife and Daytona shes the middle child of the 3 kids. Shes 7 years old now..
NICE! YES! Very Cool! Love that place. All these years watching and you really touched my ❤ with this one. ✌️🤟 *Send any NASCAR questions you got. Happy to help.
Jordan if you are ever back around the old hometown you need to research Eldora Speedway. It's a dirt track where a lot of NASCAR legend got their start. I believe Tony Stewart still owns it. I have a family member who used to work pit there. He has a picture of Jeff Gordon's dirt car. Racing goes on every summer.that
used to love Nascar. have you heard the song King Richard that Kyle Petty sings ? My favorite track was Bristol. My driver was Rusty Wallace but after Dale dies everything changed. So when all the good old boys retired i quit watching. To confusing. I got to meet Adam Petty and he was a fantastic young man' .. Rust had a beautiful car Miller Genuine Draft and he called it Midnight. Thanks for the trip. There was no Mark martin or Dale Jarrett..
Wonderful tour!! Glad you have found NASCAR racing. Been a fan since 1973 when my Dad took me to Rockingham. Have been in love with the sport ever since! Have you been able to attend any races yet?
I remember show car coming to Rose's department store in the 70s . We were waiting for the king to show up but could fly in because of rain. Me and my father were the last hanging around. the guy showing the car picked me up put me in car. I was like 5 he's talking to my father while I'm making engine noises jacking on the wheel. That would never happen today. Guy said The car was actually a race car ,not show car. it would be running in a couple of weeks 73 Dodge charger .
Up the road a bit is Richards museum and not far from there in VA is the Wood Brothers museum. Both are worth a visit and as an aside, Richard is OFTEN at the museum and Leonard Wood is usually at the Wood Brothers museum as well. Might catch them both there.
Hey Jordan just an fyi for you that wasn't technically Darrell Waltrip's car...he was the fill in for the injured regular driver of that #1 Pennzoil car....Steve Park

what an awesome video Jordan this was a lot fun to watch.
The 76 balls were where the radio reporters sat at Daytona and a few other bigger tracks. Usually one at each turn.
Glory Road, which is where all those cars were, which starts at 0° banking and goes up to 32 to meet. Talladega is changed out every 5-6 years
Jordan Back then I follow Nascar and those cars bring back memories I leave only two hours from Charlotte

Very enjoyable. I'm glad I got to see the #3. Encreditable history! I'm sure your grandpa liked this experience very much also.
Still got Mat Kensith's signed rookie card when he raced for ASA! Kind of a minor league of NASCAR.
Awesome video Jordan!

Good one. You need to go to a Top Fuel drag race. Your insides rumble when they light em up.

Also, just a note, its Chad Ka-naus (the K is pronounced) and also Kasey Kahne is pronounced Cane.
Jordan if you are a Brooks and Dunn fan or a Charlie Daniels fan check out a song called Sunday Money by B&D and The Intimidator by Charlie
Saved the best for last Tony Stewart ❤❤❤❤❤😊
My favorite driver is Davy Allison. I didn't see any memorbillia from him
If you saw a brick from Monty Hilbourn that’s my uncle

Is the Waltrip Penzoil car really a 98? It looks it has 00-02 taillights and spoiler.
I was reading off of their info plaque most likely, so that's probably what it was noted as
If you watch Eric estepps nascar Hall of frame video you will see what I mean
I'm not far from u
Love your videos but your pronunciation of some of the names just bugged the hell out of me as an avid nascar fan/history nerd
