Unfortunately there are dozens and dozens of well meaning and hard working people who go into politics with the goal of making things better, helping their constituents or trying to get a message heard. These folks get relegated to the back benches or are simply stifled by their own parties and the chosen few in cabinet. They are forced to toe the party line and edicts of cabinet or the PMO and accomplish nothing, so the next goal is to serve / terms and garner a plum pension. These people are wasting their time and ours on a daily basis. They have no voice, they are there to vote along party lines.

Farmers are the best at using their inputs wisely. Also, no one else uses capital as well as Farmers, while "getting by" on such a low Rate of Return on Investment. And, does any other business buy at "retail cost" and sell goods at a "wholesale price"? I could say more on that, but the short story is it's just not the same as what other businesses would tolerate. Meanwhile, when I was a kid in the 1960s, farmers were poor and treated as the poor too. I remember those days very well...going to school with "holey" shoes etc and being laughed at and treated as "the dumb farmer's kid". Later in my teens and twenties, when we'd be getting drunk, the " we were so poor that..." game would be played. It was always fun to laugh at who had the poorest car with say no floors in the back or who had milk cans with a two-by-ten across them for a back seat. Nowadays, people look at them as rich because of all their land and the huge machines they need to use to get their work done. It's been a strange observation to witness over all these years. It's always been a tougher business that most people couldn't handle. IMO, there's just not enough awareness of all that.

It is all about ESG scores. Sri Lanka banned all fertilizer because they wanted to up their ESG score since this is now used by global groups to see if a country is worthy enough for things like investments. And we saw what happened in Sri Lanka... the government collapsed as the economy there collapsed and people are now facing famine.

So if a country has a low ESG score they don't get loans or investments. One of the ways to increase the ESG score is through the environment. Sri Lankas ESG score went up when they banned fertilizer. Germany also boosted their ESG score by moving to more green energy... but now they have to ration hot water because they do not have enough power.

Google. "Here is where your lands will be poisoned without your consent”
The Ontario government has notified First Nations that their territories are about to be sprayed with glyphosate
A new study from Canada finds that glyphosate breakdown releases phosphorus into water bodies in agricultural areas, contributing to the problem of eutrophication.
      What a eutrophication means?
Harmful algal blooms, dead zones, and fish kills are the results of a process called eutrophication - which occurs when the environment becomes enriched with nutrients, increasing the amount of plant and algae growth to estuaries and coastal waters.

That is the problem. The government and media keep everyone in their own bubbles by explicitly denying canadians access to information, and also by-proxy of culture-wards, where people like this guy are declared 'racist' as a default term for anyone who has a critical appraisal of the government's choices. And the end result is that everyday people now truly believe that anyone who criticizes Trudeau or the government is a crazy conspiracy theorist because CBC told them so. It's horrifying the level of control they have. I, as a teacher, have found that teachers (y'know, the ones paid to pass on information to the next generation) are the people who are most in the dark, most brainwashed by the government, and most vocal in declaring anyone with critically intelligent thoughts as 'racist' - creating more insultated bubbles of people who know nothing of what the government is doing or why.

Our government isn't that smart. They do what they're told by the globalists. The same thing that's happening right now in Sri Lanka and Netherlands, just following orders, probably coming from the Chinese Communist Party, to destroy any semblance of a middle class in the world so that the worldwide Public Private Partnership is in full control of resources, including the human population.
Movements like CRT are about shaming people out of being successful and hardworking. There's a full on attack on the working and middle class to prevent them from advancing socially so that we'll all be dependent on megacorps and government to survive.

The more you owe your success to government, the less you should get to claim you're a private entity. This goes for anyone receiving subsidies for crops, oil, electric cars and anyone taking land stolen by what we in the U.S. call "eminent domain".

Farming in the modern day requires levels of efficiency that rivals some of the biggest manufacturing companies in the world. That is called optimal. It can not be done any more optimal.
Optimal is when the plants have used up all the available fertilizer and trough photosynthesis converted it into plant fibers that either you or your bacon can eat.
Done correctly, as explained, the amount of waste nitrogen is close to 0.
The carbon emissions we then are left with are the diesel used on the tractor witch are overrun by the amount of carbon bound up in the food produced.
The carbon will then be released as we, the people, eat and digest the food. In other words: We, the people are the problem. Not the growing of crops.
facts: A human produce/use 80W/h of energy. There is 11.000W/h of energy in 1 liter of diesel. 1 liter of diesel can do the work of 137 man-hours.

      Analyze how you're arguing.
You heard social experts who conveyed a warning about the ill effects of chemicals. Did you talk to actual chemists and hygienists and people who have a grounding in economics?
Now look at this farmer. He's personally invested in the survival of his business including knowing that people need to eat. He's already put into practice various growing methods to amplify growth and productivity and reduce nitrogen (the most expensive element in his business equation). He's also talking to intermediaries who have close affiliation with chemists, scientists and experimenters.
Try to gain a fuller understanding of dynamics of a situation. If you're heavily invested in emotional thinking with a myopic focused on a particular element in an equation you're guaranteeing disaster for all of us.
PS us truckers had access to news from around the world. Most of us have a better grounding in reality than a lot of office or factory people have. I personally knew by July 2020 that all efforts to curb COVID-19 were utterly useless and the approaches used (with the elderly, failure to get people outdoors, economy, mental health) were self inflicted wounds.
