      Does he really have friends?
Everything in his life is transactional. I think he just has people whose friendship benefits him. They're chosen strategically because they make him look important by association, or he might need to use them some day. Or both.
He makes people complicit in things they wouldn't otherwise do, to protect himself--even if it means potentially ruining their career, their reputation, and their other relationships.
      Maybe their freedom.

Previous Presidents replaced 1/3 with political appointees and so far Trump has replaced over 1/2 with political appointees, then there is the fact that in his entire administration, 1 in 14 of Trump's political appointees are former lobbyists, which has been unheard of in any previous administrations. Doug Manchester, a billionaire hotel developer who likes to be called “Papa Doug,” was offered the Bahamas post one day after Trump’s inauguration. Manchester donated $1 million to Trump’s inaugural fund. Trump told the billionaire, “I should probably be the ambassador to the Bahamas and you should be president,” Manchester told CBS.""

That is what I have been thinking about. Sondland is a GOP mega donor. He is in the current trouble he's in because the the GOP and the Trump admin wanted to reward him for his support. Yet if they don't handle that situation with some kind of tact, other mega donors and friends of Sondland might very well start to think "there but for the grace of God go I". It would be all too easy for other donors to see themselves ending up somehow caught up in GOP troubles, illegalities, whatever, and start to want to put some distance between themselves and the party. Which would mean perhaps decreasing support. Besides plain not liking the way Sondland is being treated. Or Rex Tillersen was.
Which may explain this sudden urge that billionaires have to jump in on the Democrat side of politics.

It was all the Bidens' fault. His son got a job at that bank, and I am concerned with embezzlement, bigly. So much embezzlement, folks. Believe me. So I sent my lawyer to that bank, to look over people's shoulders to see if he was embezzleing anything. But most to congratulate the teller on their birthday. _That's_ what was written on that note he passed to the teller. No you can't see the note, I put it in my safe. My scrapbooking safe. What a silly show of democracy from the dimcrats and the only real consequence is another Trump win 2020 and he deserves it ! Sondland hearing was another big nothing burger and the soup cooked up by DNC from some puddle in their own backyard will backfire and maybe they know this already and just bet their continuous bad fake news will somehow save the day or their now 3 1/2 year fishing expedition, contrary to our constitution (as per the usual DNC trick and cheat customary way of life...) will yield something, something, something whatever they can gouge on... im sure both Russia and China would be honored to have them as leaders...shameful is their conduct, shameful and disgusting, silly so called democrats on the lose !!! and what happened when the bbc journalist came with his lame assessment "that this will have big consequences for Trump " through his rotting teeth, we all saw the socialist globalist bend to bbc and all on their payroll. Shame on BBC !!

car. A We’re really not that intelligent - as a nation, that’s why I think it’s perfect for most Americans. Remember, we have one of the lowest participation rates of any Democracy. A 12-minute short is actually a pretty high bar.

"He looks like a mailman who's seen a Rottweiler, and Trump's the Rottweiler." I would just like to point out how unfair a comparison this is. One is a dangerous, vicious animal that attacks anything that gets too close, and the other is a vastly misunderstood and mischaracterised breed of dog.

that's why Sonderline could not answer questions and changed his testimony. He could not keep anything straight. If I was on trial and he was my key witness, I would be the happiest man on earth, due to his unable to keep anything straight. The only thing he could keep straight was his jokes about his wife and his amigos, which is not good for someone testifying.
