    15:03 "covrig cu mac şi susan". Basically a sweet bread bagel with poppy and sesame seeds. You'll find them all over Romania, but the recipes differ quite a lot from one place to another.

    That bagel like thingy is called "covrig". You will find them in Turkey as well under the name "simit".

      @@PursuingMountains Unfortunately I’m not very organized regarding my route findings so, no. It’s more of a point and go, then “ah f##k”, turn back or divert, and a little later “ahh, this great”. But your videos brings back a lot of good memories, so thanks :-)

    Another adventure with stray dogs, I love it! I love long bike trips and always feel sad when they are almost over, but then when they do I am happy to move on to something else...lol

      It was sad to be done and even now it feels like a blur, but we definitely have to do more touring in the future.

    Another great video, thanks! Question for someone who is planning similar route; why did you choose to cross to Romania (and take highways that looked quite scary!!) after Iron Gates instead of continuing following the Danube in Serbia? Thanks

    • @PursuingMountains
      @PursuingMountains  6 місяців тому +1

      Surprisingly, I think it was actually shorter for us to cross into Romania from where we were in Serbia and we were already pretty far behind schedule. If we had more time, it may have been worth it to stay on the Eurovelo 6 all the way over to the black sea before heading south to Turkey

    You went on the shortest route through south of Romania the most poorest and sad/ugly side of the country.

      Hmm, maybe you didn’t watch the whole video, but we were in Romania for the better part of 4 days. The first day was a half day starting in Serbia but crossing into Romania, 2nd day was a full rest day in Romania, 3rd day was a full day in Romania and the 4th day was a full day in Romania but we got on a ferry to Bulgaria at the end of the day.

    Yay another video. I get so excited to watch new ones. That bagel look similar to Montreal style bagel, which is pretty close to Crack. 😁. I am not sure if you done already, but would love to hear some details about your bikes, what brand, tire brand and typ what air pressure, type of bike rack etc.

      Aww that’s awesome! So glad you enjoy the videos :) we have a video that discusses the bikes we haven’t changed much since the great divide. But our tires were overkill for this trip. Could probably get away with a 2.25 width.

    It was like biking through Mojave dessert and saying "Look, we visited USA". Believe it or not, we found scorpions and snakes. Wow.

    • @PursuingMountains
      @PursuingMountains  5 місяців тому +4

      What are you trying to say? We already said in the video that we wish we had more time in Romania, but it was mostly off route for us. This video is part of a series of us biking from London to Istanbul. We didn’t have time to go everywhere or see everything we wanted to see. If someone biked through the Mojave and said they went to the USA, I have no problem with that. The US is massive and I understand that you can’t see everything in a single trip.
