How I Use Grant Horner’s Bible Reading Program

- A short 10 minute video explaining how and why I use Dr. Grant Horner’s Bible Reading Program.
For 5 years now I have been reading through the Bible. The plan I used to use was great, but it was easy to forget what you read when a few months would roll by. So I decided to go against the traditional grain and try and reread portions of the Bible all over again once I go through them. This plan helps me to accomplish that.

Been using this reading plan for about a month and it’s phenomenal.
I may update how I use this plan in the future. I moved my tabs more inside to stay out of the way as I transport my Bible in all kinds of different ways.

I can't just read the Bible. I always find a word or sentence or some revelation the Holy Spirit reveals to me that causes me to investigate further. I also don't rely on only one commentary because I understand that they are usually a bit biased according to the author's personal beliefs. Sometimes I am lead to do a topical study and other times I find I'm interested in the author of the gospel or epistle. I have tried the "Read The Bible In A Year" plans but I am usually chasing rabbits instead of sticking to the plan! All of my Bibles are my most treasured possessions. And I always seem to find something new with every reading. :)
I get caught up in those very often, a dot connected, a trail of references and checking original languages etc. sometimes a text only keeps me on track lol
Use a thompson chain reference bible. It will help you with topical studies with no commentaries. Also, you don't need to read 10 chapters in one sitting. You can read 5 in the morning then 5 in the evening or even read it the next morning.
What do you do with the provided ribbon(s) while doing the Horner plan?
I’m thinking about trying this one. Working almost every single day of every month for the past 2 years has really got me off of my regular bible reading. Many days a week working 12s. It’s been hard to keep up. You saying you were very busy too at work motivated me to try.

Thanks man. Don’t beat yourself up over it if you fall behind. I fell behind by a year and am continuing the plan again. It happens sadly.
I actually don’t use my personal ribbon for much of reading plans. I mainly use it for church or quick passages I am checking out. Nothing too elaborate. Thank you for sharing bro!

@@backgammon3167 two days in feels good. I used to read through in a year several times but rarely read my bible lately. This is an interesting plan and it does feel like a refresh each section.
Been at it almost a month but actually have done 31 days worth of lessons. It’s been good. I just wish I had 10 ribbons lol
