Ngl I'll own it, I was quietly one of the ones that didn't think Caleb would bring the right energy too, he BLEW UP in the absolute best way. Seems like he filled the empty shoes and then just kept growing - and then he turned his life around. The first Beartooth song I liked was I Have a Problem, this coming out feels like "look at how good i did guys" and he so much deserves it. And he's shredded as a bonus LOL
Beartooth have always been a favorite of mine and got me through lots of dark times and I’m so glad to see them in this new era! I’ve been doing better to so in a way I feel like I’m growing with the band and continuing to relate to the lyrics heavily
As someone in recovery now after being an IV junkie since I was 17 (I’m 30 now), this is one side of the feeling of recovery. If you want to see the other side of what it feels like, check out ‘Look the Other Way’ by Beartooth. Even if you don’t make a video on it, it kind of gives you both angles. There’s days where you feel better. You feel like you’re in a great place. Then there’s days where you’re feeling embarrassed about how weak you were for so long. The amount of pain you caused not just your family, friends but yourself as well. How embarrassing it is and how you just don’t want people to know and there’s two lines for me that hit it home for me. Obviously the line: “I'm picking up the pieces, please just look the other way”. For me it hits home because you just want to only let people see the part where you’re “fixed” but that won’t happen. You’ll always have to fight to be okay. But for me the part that hits the hardest is the lines: “'Cause baby, I'm afraid I'm slowly pushing you away By showing you the deepest, darkest, weakest part of me”. Especially the WEAKEST part of me. I’m always afraid that my family or my fiancé will leave. People always tell us junkies that they want to be able to try and help, but it takes a lot for us to show you just how weak we are that we let a drug or multiple drugs take over our lives so completely that we would’ve been perfectly fine going out as long as it was in our bloodstream when we did. Long post, but I just want people to see both sides of recovery in mine and a few others’ eyes.
