Since it kinded sounds weird, when I say that "Ice Armor puts you at a nice threshold to build more armor" I mean that it gets you closer to 112 armor, which is when each point starts giving you 0.2%pdr instead of 0.1%pdr. Once you get to 175, each point of armor gives 0.3%pdr instead of 0.2%pdr. Basically armor is op on Wizard.

Super entertaining and educational video ! Wizard in the current meta (slayer fighter + crypt) definitely feels strong.
However I just wanted to clarify some points :
1. What repoze does in this video seems easy but it's not.
2. Not only he is one the best mechanical player in the game (aim,kiting,movement + bhop) but his class knowledge, match up, map knowledge is also on another level.
3. He has spent hundred of hours playing the game, know exactly his limit on the class, how to build, what situation is favorable.
So my take is : Wizard is OP ? Nope, Repoze is OP 😄

It’s also stronger rn because of crypts, ruins was quite cancer with all the crossbows
just range in general and infinite kite areas. crypts was always better for wiz, cleric, fighter and barb somewhat. range and move speed really prevail in ruins

It is true though. As someone who has played mostly slayerfighter since release, Warlock is probably even worse. Locks also are op against all other classes except ranger, wiz is just extra op against what is the most popular thing currently.

@repoze1 at 9:03, the stone pillar that the rogue dodges behind (as well as 80% of the entire rubble pile) has no hitbox and can be zapped through. This works with all other projectiles like your other spells, arrows/bolts, and even melee swings. You just cant walk though it.

Im gonna comment the same thing as cng, wizard is not that broken it's just the good players make it broken due to it having a higher skill cieling than other classes :D so repoze is just saying hes a god at the game!

Honestly he said it is strong when you have the best gear with +11true magical, but it's very weak at mid gear. Unlike barb who is strong with every possible gear.
Remember when Playtest first dropped and he was getting absolutely ROLLED as a Ranger at the height of their powers? Dudes funny but really can't reconcile he's barely above average.

I'm far more curious about the couple hours of building though. on twitch the stream starts with you already having a kit. I feel like getting +11 damage and 130+HP on wizzy is not that easy, I also saw that your movement speed was good too. I wanted to see how you did it. Repoze yu might not see this, but i wanna hear your opinions on bards silence. yeah you can only use 1 spell sheet, but the 5 most important songs along with the silence is crazy. all you got to do is bait a wiz relatively close pop the silence with your drum out, throw it for a headshot quickly switch to rapier/hand crossbow and its game over. strongest wizard counter IMO

counter play like this is good for the game, you need to set up a rock-paper-scissor match up precedent
The wizard is not so easy to understand. you are dependent on your skills and more often than not, two fights are difficult for you to endure. Your adequate range is medium because your projectiles are quite bulky and travel fast enough that you have little time to dodge. If you're nervous, and at first you will be, you'll find it a little hard to concentrate and you'll be at a loss for something to die for. The wizard also has a large dependence on equipment, when you have 90 HP, you die in 3 hits or several shots, in the video the author has very good equipment, making mistakes or being in bad situations, collecting the same equipment will be expensive.
When a rogue main says "Wizard best solo", really just believe him, he's telling about truth.
Rogue is not weak
rogue in the lower end is extremely weak even geared hes not a threat without landmine and even then you could still out dps him on most melee classes lol rogue is in a odd spot due to hp stacking as meta where as rogue cant really hp stack unless you wanna have 0 dps or 0 move speed. take bard for example its basically a tankier rogue w a shield and ambush at all times who can also allow his team to do so much aswell @@shaboingboing799

I think there is a very very large aspect of skill here, A good player is going to be a good player regardless of class matchup, You prove this on your rogue time and time again, with it being the objective weakest class right now.
Not saying that wizard isn't strong, definetly is a good class, but this video doesnt prove that, it proves that you're a skilled player. Anyway, good video as always. I might check out the live streams, but Im generally not a live stream guy, I like skipping through parts of a video and I cant do that on a live stream.
Sick editing and music btw, im always so confused when people say wizard is a weak solo because you have to sit for spells and fight melee classes....but wizard has ~7 damaging spells, haste/invis, and mm to win any melee engagement in the game. I only play solo and im always scared when I see the rare wizard in my lobby. Hopefully they nerf his dmg or defensive perks, there is so little counter play rn. Also buff rogue :)

invis definitely needs a rework or they need to add another ability to replace it (like a dash or something). either way hes in a trash spot right now, i just want rogue to be fun to play and fight against

The explaining how to make wizard the best at solo us just "make an op gear build and the class is op". How would this wizard do against 209hp Rouge build?
144 hp, 46 know, 309 ms, +11 dmg(or more). I am pretty sure warlocks with similar gear would like to have a word.

Best way ive found to fight wizards on bard is to camp doorways and just poke with crossbow and never go in melee range. Its so crazy how the ranged glass cannon class can play with such poor positioning and thought because of missiles. Played wizard for 3 games with a mid set in trios and easily clutched up a 1v2 against the gold due to how absolutely broken the class is. Imo splash fireball does wayyyy too much damage with all the +true gear
definitely the strongest class in the game when used correctly and effectively, very far from unbalanced
the only viable way to play with is with good gear, with amazing gear you wont die in 1 headshot from a barbarian, you'll die in 2 :)

And a kit with 140/150 HP, 11 true dmg, armor and enough move speed is really expensive.

And btw Repoze even if i think wiz is the most powerful class (wiz main but play all classes), you are one of the best players of the game, you could play anything you would crush 90% of the playerbase.

so ive been playing long enough that i know i cant just w key down a wizard on a slayer fighter. if im playing slayer fighter im using ranged on a wizard plain and simple. between ignite and magic missile, w keying a wizard is always a bad choice. youre gonna need to be accurate and space yourself well but they are definitely not unbeatable on slayer fighter by any means. they are probably one of the more well equipped non magic classes to handle a wizard honestly. what ive noticed is when a lot of people arent playing a class that you are playing you end up feeling OP when in reality running into that class is a less common occurrence so people either just dont know how or dont remember how to deal with the class. i main bard and that was happening to me for a while. the amount of people who would just w key me and let me double debuff them, then get rolled was insane.
Wizards are gonna be a big problem when they get the Magic Lock spell
Wizards have almost no flaws, the staff can go through shields, a hit can make a tank disappear, any single spell is enough to take out a lot of health, they really need to give us more magic defense. Long-distance spell attacks are too powerful in this META.
