I LIKE HEARING YOUR COMMENTS. BUT. WHERE DO YOU GET THAT BOTMAN IS INJURY PRONE 🤷HE SNAPPED HIS ACL WHICH COULD HAPPEN TO ANYONE. SO I'M SORRY BUT THAT DOSENT MAKE BOTMAN INJURY PRONE
He is the best midfielder in the Prem at the moment. A lot of it is un-sung. The ground he covers, the vision, play disruption, and speed of his forward on touch passing. He plays the ball where player need it.
If I had my way Alice you would be the No1 replacement for Match of The Day, so much more knowledge than most others that have been named as possibilities 👌 Great summary as always
I think the biggest change with Tonali being able to play the 6 at a high level has been it allows NUFC to replace Longstaff with Bruno. Longstaff is obviously a very high effort player, but he's not good enough on the ball, or at playing in tight spaces/finishing chances. Bruno isn't quite as leggy as Longstaff, but is miles ahead creatively; and him playing the 8 gives him the freedom to press higher up the pitch rather than always tracking back. For a team that doesn't play with a true 10, we need Bruno to create chances if opposing teams aren't allowing us to play direct through Gordon or Isak. And the unsung hero in all of this is Jacob Murphy, who's flexibility and effort holds the right side of the formation together.
Spot on as always. Hearing so little praise for what a difference maker Tonali in the 6 role from TV pundits, gotta wonder if they even watch the games they talk about. His passing wasn't always up to his high standards today but he just appears all over the pitch to challenge, win/block the ball then progress the play. Absolute machine for the full 90.
I think the Duran sending off didn’t help us the ref had an absolute shocker but well done Newcastle this comes from a frustrated villa fan. Keep up the good work Alice 👍😊
I believe it was a harsh red, but because of the potential serious foul that it obviously is, intentional or not, it is hard to argue it, somehow. Harsh on Villa, but fair ref, i would have felt the same if it was the other way around.
Goal aside joelinton was a pure beast today. One of the best displays hes had all season he was genuinely phenomenal the goal was just the icing on the cake
I love how much Newcastle makes you happy Alice, just take that leap and come to the dark side.... you will be welcomed 😊, anyways another great analysis Alice as always. 🖤🤍🖤🤍
Difficult to switch allegiances when you support a club for so long. It was torture to back away from us for all those years while Ashley was ruining the club
I watched all your reviews after every match, firstly it is very big of you to actually give so much cred to another team, from the one you support. And Secondly you use so much documented facts and have an incredible good football head, which you share so passionate. My point is that your vids are very enjoyable to watch, and a big thank you for doing such an amazing job. Howay the lads
Apart from a spell after we scored the first goal, we controlled that game perfectly. Duran was silly and he’ll probably learn from that. He’s a top player but that was Naughty.
We are flying them international break ruin our momentum this run of games has been nothing shot of magnificent, team spirt is high, confidence threw the roof love it
Young Lady you are amazing in your insights about the game of football (soccer to us Americans lol). I have been a Newcastle fan since the late 80’s (yes, I am in my 50’s lol) and I truly believe after a long time we may have found the right pieces to really make a move to the top of the PL. Do you think Burnley might sell us Traford? If so that will only make us stronger, and if we can get a really good RW Europe better watch out. Thank you so much for your coverage and I bet we see you on Sky sports covering the game very soon. Be well!!!
I agree with a lot of what you say but Botman injury prone? He's had one injury in his time at Newcastle. Admittedly, it's been a lengthy injury but I woukd say someone being injury prone means they suffer repeated injuries.
Love the channel. Tonali has been class since playing his number 6 position. Joelinton deserves a mention, he is absolutely brilliant. He is everywhere. Elliot Anderson is no where near in the same league as Joelinton
2025 IN - Gyokeres, Zubimendi, Mbeumo, Guehi, Trafford Out - Wilson, Almiron, Longstaff, Gillespie, Ruddy, Targett, Hayden, Kuol, Cash in on Trippier and Dubravka if possible
The only time I've ever criticised Eddie Howe was when we went to Chelsea away and left Cole Palmer completely unmarked, which resulted in him winning the game for Chelsea. Any sensible Newcastle United fan knows Eddie Howe is the best man for the job. He is young, so he is still learning but he will take us all the way just needs time and backing in the transfer windows.
You nailed it, despite the recent big wins, the one weakness Newcastle still have is their finishing. They're scoring because they're creating so much but they're still missing a lot of chances too. Isak for me feels like the only natural finisher in the team.
Great points Alice. Tonali excels at making himself second defender into any challenge in his vicinity more than often coming away with procession. Happy New Year Alice.
I actually thought Tonalis' passing was poor today. Not his usual standard. But still put in a good shift, high work rate etc. Cheers Alice. Love your analysis 🫡👍
Yet another excellent analysis Alice. Newcastle have the best leftside in the PL. Replace Bellingham for Joelinton and you will have an awesome left side for England. Hall and Gordon have started to gel so well together with Joelinton and Isak, that difference is where the big improvement is. Eddie has finally learned to play players in their corrct positions which is another plus. One slight error from you though. The board tried to back Eddie in the summer but his insistance on trying to get Guehi, a vastly over rated CB for big money is why we ended up with no one. Hopefully with Paul Mitchell in charge this time a repeat is out.
Great Alice as always, sorry about your team, I am sure you are steaming over the result and Ugarte and Bruno missing our game :D. I agree, if we stay fit we can get Europe. If we could sign a RW, striker and a new RCB that would help massively, but I think at most we will sign 1. Love our midfield, love our attack, we need RW and we need to sort our defence out. The difference is Tonali, he has knitted the team together and pushes us forward at every opportunity, absolutely love him & Bruno together.
I thought Villa looked strong today, they were no pushovers & will do well the rest of the season. If we have a RB at Old Trafford then there will be some fuming reds fans by final whistle
Good ebening! I was worried what kind of performance we would put in with the run of big teams coming up and today was a good performance. Villa came to play a physical game and they got played. Duran was wound up from being told to piss off by Digne from taking that free kick and he took his frustration and aggression out on Fabian. Red, easily. It annoys me that some teams trying to pretend they can play rough at St. James park and when that does not come off, then trying to dive and whine at every opportunity like Bottlers FC usually do. The Rogers guy rolling on the ground keeping his hands on his face when Big Joe touched him nowhere on his face. Blipping muppets. We own these lot, particularly at St. James Park. The only problem we have is people like Murphy wasting opportunity after opportunity. He really does my head in. Howe is still slow to changing things up. There was a point where Isak was gassed and unable to press and we were effectively playing with 10 men and Howe looks on with a striker on the bench as if nothing is happening. Him and Murphy really need to make adequate decisions in real time. Gordon was brilliant again, except a few sloppy passes. Bruno and Tonali playing high level football. Lewis Hall again impressive and Dubravka was great commanding his box and dealing with whatever came his way. It would be interesting how we will do at Old Trafford. If we beat you, I do not think you would mind a lot. You know it is coming.
Tonali looks like Pirlo so everyone made a lazy comparison when he was at Brescia. In Italy, ppl eventually saw that he resembles Gattuso more. Tonali isn't the most technically refined but he tactically astute. A coach's dream. The reason why he looks technically solid at Newcastle is because of Eddie Howe's automatisms. So, i strongly disagree with you about him not being the most technically skilled, he is way ahead of most of our players, technically.
I've said for a long time Alice should be on main stream.. Better than most pundits on knowledege and stats.. That goes for most teams... Watch this space ☝️
I just hope we can keep a hold of our best player this season. Isak, Bruno, Tonali, Gordon and Big Joe. These 5 are dominating atm and teams are struggling to deal with them. Next three games are massive, Man U, Spurs and arsenal (cup). Could define our season.
We only need to add 2-3 players of their standard and we are good for the season and beyond.. Hope PSR doesn't pressure us to sell one of them . We can't afford that lost
i seen manu lost 2-0 but i have not seen the highlights, but as a newcastle fan, im so happy your bruno got sent off as i dont like him as a player, i dont understand him as a captain either you are an incredible pundit, you know your stuff! better than the ones on tv thats for sure always a pleasure watching ur video's certainly helps that you praise my team alot :)
Alice, if you don’t think the stamp was deliberate, look at the Times article on the match. They have the front on picture and you can see he is looking right at the target area and is unnatural in his positioning in order to do it. A nasty, scummy foul. The lad needs to learn quickly about respecting the careers of fellow pros.
Any coincidence that we haven't lost since Tonali and Dubravka started, Tonali protects the back four and Dubs is more Commanding in the box from set pieces than Pope. 😮
City, Man-U, Spurs & Even Chelsea are having their wobbles now... We had ours last month but now we are hitting form at the right time. I hope we can keep it up for a few more games, beat Man-U & Spurs in the Prem, advance in the FA cup and give Arsenal a good go in the League Cup. The future could be bright for the Black & White. HWTL.
There’s no money to spend in Jan. so unless we sell this is the toons team. Europa would be good. PSR is holding clubs back, but that was the plan when it was made.
Bruno Fernandes just copped a second yellow at Wolves, so we won’t see two #8 Burnos leading their sides in next Monday’s MUFC v NUFC match at Old Trafford! Alice must be spitting the dummy now 😅
Whilst Alice in a Man U fan, she doesn't spit dummies or anything else. She is a very intelligent and articulate young lady who puts most , if not all, the so called professional pundits to shame.
Duran 100% was intending to make Schar feel him falling on top of him. I found it a fair Red card. It was stupid and he was punished. He was upset not getting to take the free kick and then the tough but fair tackle by Schar and boom... Red card.
I was never worried about Villa. TV pundits have always diminished NU's achievements over the years. They all quickly forgot that NU had the longest injury list out of all PL teams, yet they wee cheated out of second stage qualification, by a reffing team that was sacked the next day by UEFA. I worry more about ManU since sooner or later Amorim will figure it out and get them playing. We have to play our high intensity attacking and pressing game. Isak was a bit out of sorts today, but I fancy him to score. I'm going for a 2-1 win to the Mags, but ManU to score first with 2 for Isak.
Hey Alice good video. I know you love Bruno G but outside of Isak who do you think NUFCS most coveted player is on current form? I hope we can keep our squad together and not lose any of our top players. A RCB RW could take us up levels but we might need to trim some of the fringe players down to make funds available.
This girl is a better pundit than the ones on Sky/TNT
Better than the 2 Robbies on NBC too
Because on tv they are all puppets

Tonali is a beast - he is stand out for the mags
Got a feeling the reason Alice is scared of Newcastle playing Man Utd next is because she wont know who to cheer for
😂
Ha ha ha
She should come the dark side, move to Newcastle, and join the real UNITED. She would be welcomed by the geordie nation.
Lol@@johngreen8996
She should come over to the actually united club of Newcastle. The red Manchester haven't been for years.
Why isn’t this lady not on sky sports? She talks better and understands the game better than the women on sky sports.
Yep I agree. She a manutd fan obsessed with liverpool have ball knowledge

Great summary as always
Newcastle are no joke, especially at home. Very dangerous team.
Tonali has had an amazing month of December.
I think the biggest change with Tonali being able to play the 6 at a high level has been it allows NUFC to replace Longstaff with Bruno. Longstaff is obviously a very high effort player, but he's not good enough on the ball, or at playing in tight spaces/finishing chances. And the unsung hero in all of this is Jacob Murphy, who's flexibility and effort holds the right side of the formation together.
Botman done his ACL, that doesn't mean he's injury prone.
This is one of my favourite channels on UA-cam. You’re better than anything on the bbc. Your comments are thoughtful and insightful
Great analysis Alice, wishing you a lovely New Year!

It didn't help you but I suggest you look at the incident in slow motion and you will find the ref had no other choice.
I think it was a red, but agree that the ref was generally awful today (Newcastle fan).
I believe it was a harsh red, but because of the potential serious foul that it obviously is, intentional or not, it is hard to argue it, somehow. Harsh on Villa, but fair ref, i would have felt the same if it was the other way around.

you are fantastic with your analysis
Tonali is a monster. He has everything, even goals in his locker. What a player.
Howe si e' accorto che Tonali e' insostituibile da un equilibrio alla squadra eccezionale!
We’re on a run of tearing teams apart…… Tonali is simply incredible. With the ball, but especially recovering the ball
Alice, you’re my favourite Toon fan. Merry Christmas to you, pet.
Tonali turned into a genuine and elite No.6 in the last few games, he cracked ‘the system’.
Tonali is the best midfielder I've seen at Newcastle since the Keegan era.
1st time ever I disagreed with you Duran was definitely a Red 😊
When I first saw it from my seat in the Leazes end I thought Duran was an obvious red card. Having seen the replays I don’t think it’s as clear cut.
We are flying them international break ruin our momentum this run of games has been nothing shot of magnificent, team spirt is high, confidence threw the roof love it

And we are experts in the situation. We have Callum Wilson.
Should’ve won that 5-0…two good goals rubbed out by poor reffing.
One first disallowed goal was out of play tbh. Bruno’s goal should have stood though
Love the channel. Tonali has been class since playing his number 6 position.

Genuinely, that midfield 3 of Bruno, Joelinton and Tonali is as good as any in this league. The balance, attitude, passion and covers every attribute.
Happy Xmas. Your insights are appreciated as usual. 🎄🎁
it's taken eddie until december to figure out that once he plays tonali as the 6 and bruno as the 8 you then have an unstoppable midfield

Tonali looks like Pirlo so everyone made a lazy comparison when he was at Brescia.

Howe - system manager
Tonali - tactically astute workhorse
