Welcome to my day 1 solves of Escape Advent Calendars' 2023 calendars, "Santa's Workshop" and "The Case of the Missing Cookies". In this video I work all the way through the first day of each calendar, so if you don't want to be spoiled then don't watch this video! :)

Yay! More puzzle-solving advent calendars! These two look so simple from the outside, but they really seem to have a lot more going on once you open them up. Very promising! Looking forward to discovering the puzzles with you each day!
Yes, they're turning out to be a lot more complex than I expected! Although I just solved the day 4 puzzles and (thankfully actually!) one of them at least was much more straightforward! ;) Thank you for watching!
Thank goodness you’re back revealing this year’s puzzles and help with clues. I’m embarrassed to admit, I’m starting with Santa’s Workshop, and got the obvious first elf but immediately got stuck on its clues. I had my family take a guess and they were wrong so we’re going to use your help to give us the push we need to move along with the second elf. I watch tons of your videos, enjoy every one and bought the exit advent calendars for my family after watching you last year complete every day of each one. What fun! Thanks!

Had no idea there were other escape room style Advent calendars besides Exit. I am excited to follow along this year and may play along next year.

My first impression is that these two looks infinitely more convoluted than the ones last year! Probably not as complex as the Exit! one, but hopefully less baffling then the submarine...
That was my first impression too, although the last couple of days (I've just solved day 6) have been simpler, so we'll see! :) I really wanted to like the submarine calendar but it desperately needed someone who understood it to revise it slightly. Whoever signed it off in that form clearly didn't understand very well how puzzles work. Ravensburger (who made that calendar) have an even worse version of that same problem with some of their jigsaw puzzles that include puzzles too, where the puzzles vary between fine and literally unsolvable (because you quite simply don't have enough information to know what they want you to do, and there's no reason to do what they want you to).
