😍 I think I can safely say that this is the most beautiful isopod video I’ve ever seen. This is just perfect 👌🏼 and the closeups, just awesome. This was just what I needed ✨
Wow, easily the best one yet. Just watched the whole thing. The editing, the closeups and the commentary. Great job. I'd like to see some selective breeding experiments, resource collection and maybe a food taste test where they try new foods. Ive had a lot of success with custodian fuel.
New lens? New camera? What makes this video so much crisper? Thanks so much for organising it into species and giving the time stamps etc. This makes me want to quadruple my collection.
Your isopod videos make me so happy I’ve watched all of them at least 3 times. I love isopods and your videos about them as much as Mr X lol and I now have so many isopod supplies coming to fill my closet and heart lmao
I have been watching a lot of your isopod videos and I finally got my first ones. I picked Dairy Cows since all the people with isopod videos seem to agree they are a fairly easy keeper There are so many I can't wait to set up in little colonies. Thanks for all the helpful videos,
It would be awesome to have more in depth care tips for specific species I am still pretty new and love learning about all of them but I just want to make sure I have the best setup so they will thrive
Those two lone pods is the same story as my Millie who is an Orthoporus Ornatus Gold who has been in my porcellio scaber enclosure for several months, they've gotten along very well, as of right now though it's mostly just Millie left the wacky schedule we had for June and July due to plumbing issues causing us to stay at an apartment caused the P. Scabers to drop like dinosaurs. I occasionally see some pods but they're really struggling, Millie is doing much better than them might just be due to her adaptations to the desert I do live in central Phoenix I'm trying to get some more O. Ornatus just need more money and for temperatures to lower. Might have to wait for October if I can't find any locally. Wonderful tour btw.
I have a P. scaber colony that turned from all grey guys to a party mix crew! I'm not sure if all the males are grey or not but there are some grey, many with light skirts; there are also many calicos, some solid orange guys and some with more and more white. They are quickly becoming my faves as whenever I check them I usually see a new different looking mancai or 2. Always more pods! I would love to see some breeding experiments like maybe among your many types of laevis. I am going to purchase some scaber dalmatians and add some into the party mix culture and see what that does :D
Awesome video per usual. Just have always wondered what job do you actually have in order to own all of the very expensive animals and their daily expenses( obviously the isos dont have high daily expenses but some are super crazy expensive to purchase). Just curious bc we all know that You Tube doesn't pay that well unless you have millions of subscribers and we know you will be there sometime soon but until then you must have a great job. Have a great day
With the hoffmannseggi enclosure is it enough to only have ventilation holes on the lid or do there have to be holes on the sides as well? I’m about to get me some for Christmas
For sure! Just try with a very small amount to start. If it disappears quickly you can offer more next time. The trick is to offer enough that they finish it in a sitting but not enough that it sits there and feeds mites, etc.
@@Reptiliatus thank you! I’ll start with a couple of small pieces and keep a close eye on them. Have you ever done a video on creating a colony of springtails? And how do isopods give birth? Do they have live birth or do they lay eggs? I have I think a 2 colonies in terrariums and then my Frog viv.
Reptiliatus awesome! I was watching a video from a Aquarimax Pets and they were asking for a Canadian supplier, 🇨🇦 I gave them your channel. They all seemed to be very excited about it. Hope you don’t mind.
Reptiliatus My pleasure! OMG I can’t wait, I had an idea. You wanted to produce some maculatum phenotypes (like chocolate or with pin stripes predominant on white) and he likes creating phenotypes as well. You can compete whom gets something faster ;)
Thanks for watching! Best way to control mites is not give too much food. The food should last all week. That way it doesn’t sit there and feed mites, it should only feed your pods :).
I just need some for my bioactive enclosure of my crested geckos already got the plants and sprintails in now looking for some isopods got anny sugestions?
Love love love this video even though I am kind of late in watching it. I have a question for you… do you at all recommend breathable medical tape to put over the ventilation holes in an isopod enclosure?? I’m just not sure if it cuts off too much of the ventilation. I was really just trying to keep the gnats out. The four enclosures I have keep various types of Porcellio Laevis and One enclosure that I have armadillidum maculatum. And Thanks again!
Wow! It's beautiful! Sorri if you know it, but you really shouldn't keep dwarf whites with other species. Trichorhina tomentosa is competitive (well, I don't know how to say it in english better) species and they will displace the others. I have one bad experiense with them and Protracheoniscus nogaicus and it led to death of all children of theese cool species. P.s. english isn't my main language, so I can make mistakes, sorry
Time to chill and watch some isopods
Yessssss 🙌🏼
People out here acting like life is hard. Just chill and watch some isopods y'all.

I know I'm late to the party but I love to get stoned and watched your videos, especially your isopod videos
Some of my isopods really likes hibiscus flower 🌺
Very nice!

I would like to see specific care for specific types, and wah once to use for aired or jungle type inclousers.
Thanks for the suggestions!
Yay! The iconic iso tour vid! Would you ever do u vid where you feed some isos to some animals?
Thanks! Maybe...

Very cool Isopod collection. I agree some of them do remind me of the Ohmu from Nausicaä.
Thank you so much! Haha, glad I'm not the only one!
Una pasada. Me estoy aficionando, aunque llevo desde 2017 con ellas. Veo que no tienes húmeda las cajas no?
no, no demasiado mojado! Solo el musgo en su mayoría, pero depende de qué especie. ¡Gracias por ver!

Was waiting on a isopod vid
Happy to deliver!
I enjoyed the tour! I'd like to know which ones I should breed that I can also use as a feeder for my leopard gecko.
I’m glad! You could probably breed some
Porcellio laevis or Porcellio scaber as feeders if you wanted to add those to your animals diet as variety.
What a great collection. 8 have 5 different kinds.
Thank you! That's awesome!

Do you remember where you got your Armadillidium vulgare 'albino Japan' from?
I have a couple of canned snails. Can I put them into the substrate of my Whites Tree frog viv for my orange isopods and springtails?

😎
Emma Lynn Sampson just put out i simular video today! I am so happy because I love isopods! I really want to start some isopod colonies soon!
Haha yes, we were talking about the funny timing of it!
This video really made me appreciate Porcillios. I favored Armadilidium prior..
I am glad! Both genera are quite lovely!
Which camera or phone do you use for your
videos ?
What did you use to film the closeups?
How to plan genetics to make a golden ticket phenotype. Theory and thought process to try crosses and why. Thanks again Ricky 💃🏼🕺🏼🎸🐈⬛✌️😜
Where are you getting the dried fish from? Do they sell them?
PetCo or PetSmart should sell that brand.
Just a question, love your isopods feeding videos. Whom can I get isopods from in bc?
Thank you! I actually ship to BC! Feel free to contact me via my business email if you like! :)

Can you give me info on how to prevent mites or get rid of them. I just started collecting isopods. Thanks!

Would fish be good for my Salamander?
I don’t tong feed anymore so he doesn’t trust the tongs anymore. But I’m curious.
Isopods are unbelievably cute. I want a culture of dairy cows for my frogs vivarium but I think my orange isopods would outcompete them :(
I agree! Yea, I'd recommend having them in their own bin as pets! :)
Where can you find the tuberillo so Borneo at? I’m searching online and can’t find them anywhere. Just the cubaris sp Borneo.

Odd question but can you keep other species together with no issues .? And I guess follow up question: do they cross breed.?
What do they do?
Does it hurt when they nibble ?
