Clothing is important think for an apprentice to learn and I left that out the other day. Dress so that if the boss or the customer sees you, they think you are qualified. I notice you wear a lot a solid color shirts - me too.

Excellent video! You showed a nice selection of tools that will do a broad range of tasks without having to carry excess weight. As a Machine Maintenance Tech in a manufacturing environment, I found that carrying a few wrenches for common fasteners around the facility can save a lot of time. Carry a six inch adjustable wrench. An inexpensive carabiner clip is great for keeping wrenches together. A mini pry bar and a small locking pliers has been handy too. As far as personal items, carry a large pack of gum, some eye-glass cleaning wipes and a few pair of ear plugs that you prefer.

Great video lots of good info, one other thing to think about is maybe not a first week thing, but a set of conduit benders. As a foreman it’s nice to see people prepped this is a great starter set!

Its so odd that while listening to Casey Kasems top 40 on 102.5 Colorado, there was commercials that were coming on for an Electrician job fair coming up and now this video on my recommendations. I was a diesel tech from 2004 until recently. For the last year I have been customer service, tech support, for an upfit company. I have been thinking about electrician but just not sure if it will be easy to switch over to this career. What would be the average cost not including schooling that would be required to switch careers? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How much did your insulated shaft screwdrivers cost? I have Klein, but it's the non insulated shaft.
