How to Mix Filler and Reduce Pinholes? Training from U-POL

Many of the pinholes we deal with come from the way that we mix the filler itself. A little technique... Take the spreader and form it in a sort of C shape position, place it perpendicular to the mixing board and make a figure 8 sign. You can see how the activator is picked up and move directly into the filler. This doesn't introduce any external air into the filler. Do this for about 30 seconds, then pick the filler up, press it out. If you still see the hardener through the paste, simply pick the product up again, run the figure 8 for another few seconds. Then pick the filler up and press it down again.

hi!! awesome tip.. What can happen if air bubbles remain inside the putty. (hidden) over time, can the paint break?

Another important step you didn't mention is how to push out the air bubbles while applying filler to your panel. You're not doing body work to your mixing board
