First big steps I took were 1) stop drinking 2) exercising 3) keeping my head up like I said (easiest one to start with) 4) catch yourself wallowing, and stop yourself... cut out the sad music and shit for a while - Get a new hobby to distract yourself. Just separate yourself into the depressed you, and the "you" you want to become. That way you can separate your old, toxic behaviors from your new, hopefully helpful ones. I'm just trying to share what worked for me :) Don't feel afraid to reach out to your support network (even an online one) and don't stop trying!
