Stark Sands, the song was crafted with his voice in mind, and it is because of that the climax of this song is my favorite part of the whole show.
Stark Sands - the song just suits his voice. Maybe it is that he is an actor-singer, but the emotions he brings to that song is heartbreaking...
I'm not a huge fan of Brendon Urie's version but you proper did him dirty with the clip you chose lmao
Killian will forever be the best actor to play Charlie. Change my mind
Oliver by FAR. HE SOUNDS LIKE WHAT YOUD IMAGINE CHARLIE WOULD SOUND LIKE
You did Brandon Urie dirty with the clip you chose lol
Oliver Tompsett 100%
I love beebo, but I say Stark, it just fits him so well
okay but i love a lot of the actors here,,, but killian did the best by far. i don't take criticism.
i personally know graham and his performance is flawless everytime. cheers if you see this friend!!!
I think we all like the Charlie we saw the best, or the Charlie played by someone we already admire. Understandable. The key to SOAM for me is how the actor builds this song into a climax of the show. It comes at a point in the second act after this character has been at odds w nearly every person in the cast which leads to this moment of (near) disaster and self-revelation. It's beast of a song. When you listen to most singers doing the whole thing, they (gasp) can't find (gasp) any good place (gasp) to catch a breath. So, it's not this big note - it's the whole song you gotta judge. I saw David Cook as Charlie on Broadway in 2018. He's the only one I've heard who can actually pull off SOAM without (gasp) obvious difficulty. Long, lovely phrases and filling the theater with the sound of his incredible voice. Unforgettable. Great acting too.
I have seen this show many times, with a different actor playing Charlie each time. You cannot just who sang it best from a brief audio clip. Live theater is uniquely different in each performance. All of the actors playing Charlie do a phenomenal job, or they would not have been selected for the role. The music tells the story. The performance should be judged not just by the vocal, but rather by the emotion brought to the performance. In my opinion, Stark Sands does the best job.
I like them all
But my favourites are the guys with deeper voices
Killian👍👍
You didn’t pick the best Brendon Urie clip... he sounds awful in that recording
Oliver Tompsett. Pitch perfect
Stark all the way!!!
graham scott fleming is my fave forever
Oliver Tompsett first, followed by Killian Donnelly. :)
Got to be David hunter for me
Conor
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
U should have done the best “what else could I do” instead
Hopefully they’ll do it
Stark Sands is the original and the best.... but we need an updated list with David Socolar included :)
I saw Conor live and he gave me goosebumps. Absolutely amazing.
Based on the recordings used alone in this video, Stark Sands hands down
Stark Sands.
Brendon Urie
Nobody can defeat Killian.
Stark -- the original is STILL the best.
I have to say David Cook because he sounds amazing.
David Hunter >
Brendon Urie def
Why not Fernando Dente as Charlie… his Charlie in KINKY in Buenos Aires are the best!
Brendon Urie!!
I mean Brendon urie but I mean I may be a bit biased
Conor Maynard! 💓
