How is the costumer service? Is it guaranteed from the factory?
I haven't had to use customer service so not sure.
Is it fast and functional? Also have faced any issues during your experience?
It works as designed and I really like it. Things you should know - It needs cleaned like hosed out at least once a month. Make sure the bag is tight and litter level is correct otherwise you may have spills.
is a smart phone required to operate or is a smart phone just a convenience?
It works without the phone, but certain features, like the leveling and timing can only be done through the app.
