SOTO, featuring vocalist Jeff Scott Soto, has completed their 2nd studio album, ‘DIVAK’.
‘DIVAK’ (pronounced dee-vock) comes shortly after the debut release ‘Inside The Vertigo’, a mere 15 months partly due to Jeff Scott Soto’s insistence on continuing to create and build a true brand for his new venture. Once again the album is produced by Jeff Scott Soto and drummer, Edu Cominato, mixed by long time JSS engineer/associate, John Ellis.
The band features Soto on vocals, Cominato on drums, lead guitarist Jorge Salan, bassist David Z and keyboardist/guitarist BJ. The guys are heavily featured on ‘DIVAK’ with their writing contributions together.
The 1st single “FreakShow” was co-produced/written by Tony Dickinson, who also co-wrote “The Fall”, (the 1st single released from ‘Inside The Vertigo’), the track is an extension of the SOTO sound created especially for this new band.
SOTO will debut live during Feb 2016 with a string of East Coast US dates leading into the annual Monsters Of Rock Cruise (East) alongside Steve Vai, Extreme, Queensryche and countless headliners. In April, the band makes its European debut with a short run through selected cities and countries. The month of May sees SOTO touring Latin America, which includes dates in Brazil supporting The Winery Dogs.
SOTO, formed in 2014, is the dream band created when Jeff Scott Soto realized how much he missed the ‘heavier side’ of his career after fronting artists Yngwie Malmsteen, Talisman, Journey and even his own solo albums. The band hope to continue its construction as a driving force in today’s Hard Rock & Metal scene.
‘DIVAK’ will be available on April 1st 2016 as CD Digi and Download.

A mi también me gusta más su trabajo con Talisman o Axel Rudi Pell pero entiendo que quiera hacer cosas diferentes en su carrera y trabajar con diferentes músicos. Este hombre siempre a sido un culo inquieto, tiene docenas y docenas de bandas, proyectos y colaboraciones. Ahora le ha dado por sonar a hard rock actual con guitarras mas graves, a lo nickelback, y está bien.

As much as I love Jeff's voice, and as much as I love some of the work he's done with his "new" band...this just doesn't do it for me.

I'm one of those rare people that wanted to see KTC turn into a real band - I actually own one of the original CD's and have had it forever. I love JSS but I love the imagery of the Horror Punk Movement.... it is like Kiss Meets The Road Warrior at a Fangoria Convention.

Caras, que tragedia!! Um cantor classico como Soto tentando se reinvertar da forma mais carniça possivel! Som moderno, chato e muito forçado! Uma pena ver uma voz como essa num ambiente tão simplório melodicamente!! (10/100)
Dentro do hard/heavy que conhecemos por anos realmente as construções melódicas são pouco criativas, e isso não aconteceu apenas com ele, com Sebastian Bach também à exemplo. Mas de qualquer forma eu particularmente só considero como algo mais pop, ou comercial se preferir, e ainda assim bom. São músicos competentes que poderiam criar coisas absurdas, só que enxergo que o astro da banda "S.O.T.O." realmente seja o Soto, e é a voz dele que se mostra como principal atrativo. Quantas bandas e projetos esses caras participam e que esbanjam técnica e virtuosismo? Não vejo problema nessa ter uma pegada mais pop, e até acho interessante porque é algo de mais simples assimilação e porta de entrada ao rock n roll para um público que só consome pós-MTV.

I have not enjoyed, even a little, Jeff's new band. Soto lacks the hooks, melodies, and 80s riffs that everyone loves. I really appreciate that Jeff is an artist with great versatility and who is willing to stretch himself musically. However, I feel that Jeff really needs to get back to collaborating with guys like Gary Schutt.
