タイトーから登場した、セタ開発のアクションゲーム。 紀元前の世界を舞台に暗黒の支配者にひとり立ち向かうガリアノスの物語である。 主人公を8方向レバーで操作し、 上、中、下段用の3ボタンでシルバー･ソードを駆使して、城の中で次々と登場する17人の敵キャラクター達を倒していく。 剣と同様に上、中、下段にシルバー･シールドを構えて防御することもでき、敵や自分に剣が命中するとだんだんに鎧が剥がれていき、 剥がれた部分に攻撃を受けてしまうとやられてしまうが、ステージクリアや時々現れるマジック･クリスタルを破壊したり、 レッド･ソードを使えば修復することができる。 またシールドを素早く上下に振ることで、一定時間バリアも張ることも可能。 全4面でループ。
ストーリー:
紀元前、暗黒の支配者に略奪されたマイトレーヤ姫と財宝を救おうと一人立ち向かったガリアノス。 1986年、今再びその戦いが君の手の中で･････！

Ougon no Shiro was released in March 1986 in Japan.
The title of this game translates from Japanese as 'Castle of Gold'.
This version has a nudity feature not present in "Gladiator". See 'Tips and Tricks' section for more information, the female warrior Irene is shown with bare breasts (In Gladiator she still wears a bikini top when defeated this way).
This game is known outside Japan as "Gladiator".

「1986 アーケード」でググったら名作がいっぱい、時空の歪みに飲み込まれて1986年にタイムワープしちゃっても退屈はせずに済みそう。

My local arcade was fortunate to have this version, where you could denude Elena with careful blows and pass her by as she initially covers up in embarrassment and then exposes herself as if to say "wait, aren't you going to ravish me or anything...?"
