  • I forge the Spartan sword from the movie 300. This is also known as a Greek Kopis sword. This particular sword design is highly refined by Hollywood from it's original Kopis design. That is why I say in the title hand forged Spartan 300 sword. This is a 2 part series. In part two I will be making a scabbard and doing a cut test! I hope you enjoy watching my videos! I am really enjoying creating them, if you have any questions about the build or would like to give me video suggestions please feel free in the comments!

    That thing is fire man! Love the rail road spikes, they look way more accurate than my hammers lol. Watched this last night right when you uploaded, it was the perfect break from video editing. Also I'm jealous of your mill.

      Your video showed me how to create the raised Ridge on the sword! It worked wonderful. Having fancy equipment doesn't replace skill level my friend. I got tired of filing guard slots so I traded a motorcycle for this milling machine. I am shocked at how much I actually use it!

      I used 4 inch stock for this beast! And it was 5/8 inch thick! Monster size but I wanted that raised ridge like in the movie so start thick and grind a ton off to get that ridge and to lighten it up. Good luck Walter!

    That is certainly badass and I am looking forward to seeing what kind of damage it is able to inflict. One question I have is what you are using on the leather before you wrap the handle? I really like the look of that!

    • @Aleeknives
      @Aleeknives  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks man! I couldn't get the leather to lay flat around the contours of the handle so I wet it with warm water so I could stretch the leather. Let it dry, and then unwrap and glue into place. A little more work but it did come out nice!

    Why did you forge the bevel for? Why not forge the entire blade design out of a round or square bar of steel if forging for your viewers I the reason why you forged it

    • @Aleeknives
      @Aleeknives  3 роки тому

      I forged what was necessary to increase the strength in the material I had at hand. There are many ways to build a functional sword. I appreciate your feedback but I am not sure I understand the premise of your question.
