Today we get a surprise when we go pull a kill off the property and the animal that killed it is still on it! The dogs discovered a predator on the homestead and fought with it the night before, so today we’re heading out to investigate what happened.
DAAANG, WHAT A NAIL BITER !!!! I sure hope it's just your run a the mill brown bare and not a massive grizzly!!! Keep everyone close till you get this thing! Be careful Chad. Watch out too, it could be a sasquatch!!! 😂

@NorthCountryOffgrid oh, so now it might be a skinwalker, huh? I called that 2 weeks ago. It obvy ducked into a different dimension when cornered by hank and dixie. I mean, i would. Bears are named after a football team in chicago, so think about that.
We keep finding bear scat on our property but cleared a bunch of trees lately; thanks to an awesome neighbor that just bought a backhoe. Our neighbors lost a few chickens the last couple months by a bear breaking into the coop. On trail cam; momma and juvenile.
If it were a puma it would have tree'd or evaded & regrouped. When gacing 5 - 1 odds tou would have heard it snarl and scream loud & clear, that's what they do. Your facing an old bear, keep the 45/70 handy he'll be back & good hunting 😇
Haven't seen a bear on our place yet. I think I would have foolishly rushed in there if I heard my dog yelping. Last weeks skunk was bad enough but a Bear....
We had skunk issues last week too.

Black bears have always run from our dogs, but idk if they're was a kill in the situation. Just a property near Canada. My neighbor's saw it(ran from her too).
Maybe trail cam to be sure.
Do you all have to worry about ticks? Is that why you are wanting to take out all the brush?
We have to be vigilant against black bears here. Nothing near as bad as grizzlies.
Check for tracks, I'd be leaning towards grizzly from the color description... good luck man

Need to check your dogs out Chad to make sure they're not hurt! Sounded like your brown dog yelping and he might be chewed up or clawed up! I sure hope not! Please keep us up to date on the Bear problem! I say bear bc a cougar would have either hit a tree or ran off with 5 dogs being there! Not a bear, eapecially if he's Big enough! @@GatorMike79 Exactly! I couldn't stand there and hear my dogs screaming like that! I could barely sit and listen to the dog yelping in pain. I know that dog is hurt if it didn't drag it off! I felt so bad! 😣
