Considering this rollercoaster is well over 100 years old, it is still one of the great wooden coasters and built by a legendary designer. It looks slow on the camera but its the fact that you can feel the wood groaning and the train car visibly moves and creaks as it goes around corners adds to the excitement. It also feels like it jumps the track at the very top.
It's the only ride I went on with my mum as a kid (a long time ago) and that's because she got confused and thought we were going on the log flume. I don't understand how her mind works sometimes. Remember her freaking out and wildly grabbing onto me because she was convinced I would fall out. I thought it was hilarious. Remember trundling around that sign that cold, sunny autumn morning before the first dip. Hahah, I'll have to show her this.
This is a right laugh. It's quite bumpy and old school which makes it more exciting. I loved it. This video doesn't convey the madness of actually riding it.
I dreamt about overcoming my Rollercoaster fear, I rode blue flyer, Nickelodeon streak and then was brave enough to ride this Baby. I was so dreadfully lucky to get first seat first time. This Precious woodie will always have a special place in my heart ❤
A great wooden rollercoaster and a true Blackpool Pleasure Beach classic. Brought back some great childhood memories. Just an absolute crying shame that they got rid of the Wild Mouse. That really was a "bone-rattler" but fabulous at the same time. Truly loved that one!
I nearly came off this thing as a 12 year old back in 1985. My Sister was sitting next to me and grabbed me back down. Thanks Sis. Amazing to see it's over 100 years old. No regrets. Here's to another 100 ;)
@@yourexperienceguide Sounds slightly ominous; any reason for us to believe it won't be, given there's no longer a Wild Mouse? I well remember it from as far back as the early '70s when it had that ball-like thing atop the lift-hill, and that and the addition of restraints apart, it has barely changed. Thus I hope it’s still going strong for the 150th anniversary, even if I'm not around to know.

I got stuck on this when my family went and it started to roll back but it got caught by something, it was my first ever breakdown and it lasted for 10 seconds.
It's a superb classic and long may it continue to ride. I wonder what made the requirement for the first small lift chain? Can only be a landscape reason possibly. And blimey is the main lift hill very slow, the ultimate at lightwater valley is even slower in comparison I believe?
@@Mattia_Genuardi it flies over the tracks when running normally, it's a wild ride haha but the air time is amazing and well worth the slight whiplash 🤣

Wonder why it’s running so slowly? It’s usually rapid around those bends
Pre-season testing
I think it’s slower because there’s no people on it so it’s reduced weight?
It's because it was filmed during pre-season testing so it hadn't fully run in yet, and it was a below freezing day too.
What year was this filmed ? Is this recent with the new track areas ?
