Sometimes a person who does not speak much can achieve great things. What a magnificent person he was.
I’m a surfer from a Newport Beach, California where Duke saved all those lives in 1925. Corona Del Mar was considered one of the best waves in California in the 1920’s and early 30’s before the breakwater was built at the harbor entrance. Duke was the first person to ever surf in Newport Beach in 1912 when he was on his way to Stockholm for the Olympics. He used to shape boards on the beach for his local surf buddies in the 1920’s.
Duke exemplifies the spirit of Aloha, he will live on eternally.
The Duke rules eternally. Mahalo and Aloha to him forevermore for his contributions to Hawaii and the world.
We've decided to honor Duke with naming one of our rooms "The Duke" in his honor in beautiful Bali Indonesia to carry his spirit of surfing throughout Indonesia. Legends Bali Resorts is located in Bingin Beach, Bali and we've love to do more to support his spirit!
Duke he is my 3rd cousin believe or not Alden Namahoe Paoa his middle name is my last name in surfed all my life n will 2 the day I die ,I always looked up 2 him as far as spreading the ALOHA spirits to everyone n take care of each other no matter what. .# ALOHA KE AKUA ! ! !
