Taking the extra step to print The Pink Opaque scenes to VHS and betamax added so much more texture to the movie. The look of older formats can of course be simulated in post-production, but it often looks cheap when incorporated into medium and large budget productions.
I was sobbing, not even half way. This film is a fantastic peice of art. And its funny how two people can watch it have such a wildly differebt experince. I was sobbing and my friend was just hella confused about what was even goin on.
Watched this film yesterday and omg, the cinematography, the colours, the acting, the plot, so beautiful and literally I left the cinema questionining reality, great film honestly
I feel it is definitely horror BUT primarily or maybe even exclusively for the trans audience ESPECIALLY those who are not taking any steps to transition. Fortunately I watched this video a month into hrt but if I would have watched it prior to starting it would have fucked with my dysphoria greatly because it shows some resemblance of the stage you are in during the nightmare that is pre hrt but also shows the reality that awaits you if you don’t ever start transitioning. That is a horror that only a trans audience can truly feel just like a movie about war is something a veteran can see as some type of horror genre if the movie becomes to accurate to what war feels like but to civilians they see it as action
DERRIDA COINED HAUNTOLOGY! NOT MARK FISHER!!! (I’m a dork and I love Hauntology and I love this movie, Hauntology was my special interest in 2021, I Saw The TV Glow was made for me)
Love both of her horror films. We're All Going To The World's Fair was so fresh and different, and I Saw The TV Glow is just so darn good and it provokes existential thought, which is the highest compliment I can give to a horror film.
@@ulysesalvarado8180 well I think he's trying to be a she. It's too confusing for me. Just like how the Wachowski Brothers (The Matrix) are now "sisters"...

This is a movie that is going to stick with me for years. As a queer kid who hid in media and then nostalgia it was truly unsettling.

Conservative impulse to look fondly at your past? Okay...
no lies detected there
Isn’t that what conservative means? Traditional?
