DIY Plastic Mulch Layer Using 3 Point Toolbar

Necessity truly is the Mother of invention. Plastic mulch was a game changer for me last year. No more countless hours weeding by hand. I was unable to rent a layer this year due to issues with agricultural equipment crossing state lines so I used a 2 inch toolbar to make my own. I was genuinely shocked at how well this setup worked and for a fraction of the cost of a commercial layer. I recommend fertilizing and preparing the soil well ahead of time. Would love to read your comments or suggestions if you have built one of these. Always looking to improve and learn from others mistakes.

Hey Keith, I am in Northern Utah as well. Have about an acre garden that I’m trying to plant using a plastic mulch layer. Do you rent your mulch layer or know where I can rent one in our area?
