when about to slide boat off trailer I would suggest trying to look at the swell and determine when there is a break in the set of waves, then dump it. Same goes for setting off.
That's good stuff, important. I would join you in stressing keeping the engine trimmed up--as much as you can while still insuring it is sucking water, not air, then be darn sure when you hit any real depth, put that thing deep into the water--and you showed, reversing that process as you come back in. One--very real danger you did not touch on, is that you may go OUT with small waves like you show in this video-but by the end of the boating day, you might have waves WAY too high for a safe, beach landing. What then? Answer, is that it depends. I've been in Baja where the skilled Pangeros (boatmen) time their approach and come flying in between waves--at the last minute they yank the engine up, and let momentum slide them to safety-but this is a harrowing thing I do not recommend--unless you are really good--I for one, am not. What else? Answer, do it just the way you did, if you are young, agile and fit. That boat is light, can be tossed but you can probably handle it alright. But best to avoid beach launch or retrieval, if you have any other option of course. Cheers
Blair Phipps yeah I noticed! They all want your arm your leg and your left nut. Once the sales done they rip you off on services. No thanks. never used the dealer network for my 1410 explorer I bought hull only with wing combings and sourced motor and trailer to make a cheap inshore rig, was just wondering the price tag (hull only) with wing combings for a 1450 explorer. From memory the 1410 hull only was around 8000nzd. Just curious more then anything. But sounds like the price is a secret. Shhhhhhh.
failed to mention or demonstrate No.1 safety rule - dont stand behind the boat in the surf break... and dont buy old landcruisers that have been in salt water...

Thanks for the great vid. Feeling alot well of already
Thank you great instructional! 👍🏽😀
well done , top vid . always have a decky , when it is really big swell , how do you get out in a hurry.
Without or with another transducer, can the boat handle being beached for a day or two, not getting the hull damaged?
Great advice.
I have done it server times in a Zodiac - same way. Harder with an inflatable if boat is not aligned just right.
Great first mate, we would be heading for divorce court.
That boat is nice as !!
