- Wanna see a whole house (ok... the downstairs at least) come together in 2 days? Watch this video! We start in chaos and end somewhere pretty nice! Eventually we might makeover some rooms or get new pieces (I'm looking at you, living room rug) but I was pleasantly surprised at how well our California furniture fit in the space both in size and looks.

My daughter learned sign language. She primarily uses “more” and “all done” it really has been a lifesaver especially so we can communicate with her. 😊
*Sees Elle posted a video, goes to brew coffee, gets brownie to eat, settles in for the video* It's interesting to see what rooms people like to set up first. For me, it's always been the kitchen! I feel so much better after that bit has been organized.

I definitely agree with a lot of the comments about minimizing and especially reducing your amount of waste, but I also must say... This is a BEAUTIFUL home, and I appreciate you sharing your journey with all of us.
its so satisfying to see the empty house tour and the furnished version so quickly after each other. I always associated you guys much more with the south than california, it seems a much more natural fit for you to live there now as a mom (even though you didnt even live south when in college)
Everything looks amazing. Can’t believe you got it done in 3 days. Just one bit of advice from a mother of a boy. When you put up James’ bookcases take a minute to put a hook into a stud behind it and we used a heavy cable and attached it to the back of the bookcase. Then hook the cable on the hook. It will save you the heartache of him climbing on the bookcase and if falling over on top of him. I’ve got a friend who did it with her dresser too. Better safe than sorry. Hi Elle, I’m 21 now and I started watching you and Blair when I think i was maybe 12 or 13? I haven’t watched in a while and I literally just teared up when I saw Pinecone for the first time again. Keep up the good quality girl.

Beautiful home. I’m a nanny and I teach all the little ones I nanny sign language as soon as possible so they can tell me what they want or need. It’s very helpful.
That house iS HUGE. Big houses are really nice but im always like "so much to clean"

I’ve never related to someone more than when you mentioned swapping out the soap because it didn’t go with the kitchen. I HATE when soaps are tinted colors because no, the bright green dish soap does not go with my aesthetic and YES it does matter 😂😂💕

Uncle Pinecone...that is sooo heartwarming I don’t know why. It’s been a while since I’ve seen ur videos and seeing him cruise by was so cute.
I have those same exact ikea drawers in my closet, they really look like they are built in, most people can't tell unless I point it out. I think you will be happy with them. They are pretty sturdy and the drawers themselves glide very nicely. They do have a habit of tipping over if the top drawer is pulled on so be sure you attach to the wall because of your little one.

I stumbled upon ur empty house tour just a couple hours ago. I liked the content, I subscribed and was excited to see the finished house tour after the move so I figured it would take at least a few weeks but no! It's here already! Gotta say, u did some pretty nice work and your house looks really beautiful.

Oh man, I know the feeling! We moved on a Friday and had a wedding to go to the next day!! Friday I had tons of help from family to get furniture moved inside. My fiancee was able to help for a portion of the day and then had to go to the rehearsal dinner for the wedding being he was the best man. I skipped it and unpacked and set up the ENTIRE HOUSE except the kitchen that day/night. While pregnant! Had the wedding on Saturday and then got up EARLY Sunday to unpack and organize the kitchen with a little help from my mom.
If you are decorating for Halloween I would love to see a “decorate for Halloween with me” type of video :)

I recommend learning how to put blur boxes or black boxes over the windows in editing. The angles are odd in some of these home videos trying to not show outside. I think the boxes would help you so you wouldn’t have to worry about getting angles that don’t show outside

Nope you’re not nuts. My wife will only put lemon scented soap in the kitchen “because it goes there”. So I get the particularity when it comes to things having their place lol
Love how everything is coming along! 😍 Still dreaming about that secret pantry. 😂 When moving into a new place, boxes/totes everywhere bother me so much. I normally have the house unpacked and organized within a few days. I have a friend who will live out of boxes for months before completely unpacking. Drives me bananas.
I love your house - it looks so beautiful and livable - perfect! That piano room when you first come in the door has such an impact with the elegant Grand set off by the paneling and the perfect touch mirrors. You must be in heaven!

I taught the baby I nanny signlanguage and its such a helpful skill for the child to have and of course grow upon as they get older!

It's amazing how productive you were in just TWO days! It looks like this would've taken at least twice that. Also idk why but I really enjoyed that Target haul!! Love the wire baskets, bath mats, everything lol plus the bubba cameos! So happy for you and can't wait for more Vlogs!!

I love that you have taught your baby sign language! I taught my son and daughter sign language as babies from 5 months (they are 12 and 10 now) and it was amazing, my son went from frustrated meltdowns at 5 months, to signing to be breastfed, to say he was sore, he wanted Mama and yes/ no/ more. He learned to talk super fast because of this (alongside word/picture baby books and signing books and DVDs) and was speaking in sentences by 18 months. My daughter is the same, the amazing thing, is that both of my children are autistic, the psychologist who diagnosed my son, told my husband and I, that without teaching our son baby sign language and words through picture/ word books, it’s very likely that our son would have been severely autistic and a late talker (due to how autistic children acquire language). As it is, our children were very advanced talkers and articulate, they were both happy and calm babies and toddlers who were always able to communicate their needs. Our son has a diagnosis of High Functioning Autism due to the fact he presented from birth . He has social communication issues (which we have seen improve amazingly since he was diagnosed) but at 12, he is now a very highly intelligent young man, who is likely to be heading towards a career in politics or social justice. I couldn’t recommend highly enough for every new parent to use baby sign language- I honestly can’t imagine how different my sons life might be now if we hadn’t!
Clearly, most babies are neurotypical- the benefits of teaching babies sign language are incredibly beneficial to every baby, (and their parents) no matter whether they have a neurological difference or not! Having a happy baby who is capable of communicating their needs, is a huge benefit and prevents your baby from becoming frustrated and the subsequent/ resulting tantrums/ meltdowns)

It's rude to point out flaws in someone's house and telling them what they are missing. She doesn't need a dining room, she has a dining table, no need for the room and her house is gorgeous and has everything most people would want/|need.

🤷🏼♀️ I have a dining room and never use it AND I host Christmas every year for 28 ppl. My home is big enough that we don’t really gravitate to that area. Dining rooms are really an old school way of thinking.

Hey, since you're such a coffee lover, it might be a good idea to invest in a full coffee machine that grinds beans etc. (still only have to press one button lol). This way you could eliminate a lot of waste that accumulates with those Keurig cups. Some might argue a proper coffee machine even makes better tasting coffee 😉
You can also get a reusable mesh basket to put ground coffee in for the Keurig! When I had a Keurig in college, I was horrified to learn the cups can't be recycled and switched over to the reusable basket I found on Amazon. It needs to be cleaned/rinsed out after each use but it reduces the waste while still being able to brew one cup of coffee at a time, which is the nice thing about a Keurig.
She obviously likes her coffee machine and it's a great coffee machine. A condescending attitude speaks volumes.
