Mesmerizing song!!!! Ar Rahman Ji, you have set a standard that no other music directors in Tamil can't reach!!!
Old music directors like MS Viswanathan/Ramamurthy, AM Rajah and later music directors like Ilaiyaraja have already set some very high standards which AR Rahman has strived to achieve and the process has set his style of music. ARR is yet to prove himself in composing music for Carnatic and Hindustani music oriented movies. But unfortunately classical music oriented movies are very rarely made these days and that makes ARR unable to prove his mettle in that field of music. Present day young music directors (Anirudh for example), though talented, has a very long way to go to be ranked amongst the very best. That might not happen.

Men equals women & women equals men in everything though both of them are equals differently & uniquely, for example there is a verse which says Tamil men represents Tamil and Tamil women represents the Hindu immortal nectar (amurdham) or immortality, as to interweaving both Tamil & immortality as one and the same though different & unique. Such profound & deep verses of poesy would come only come from the brilliant mind of Kanakasabai Subburathinam.
You are a little off mate . The song does not particularly attach a quality to the Male or Female,what it goes on about is the relationship between her and him and compares it to the relationship between all the words/things that follows. Even if it attaches said qualities to Male/Female, it is very(subjective). Lastly, the context of Aamurdham here feels like it is about the divine nature and sweetness of it rather than the immortality aspect .
