- Here is a video of Tangerine Dream's appearance in the TV show "Bio's Bahnhof" on September 9, 1982. The title is "Das Mädchen auf der Treppe" which was used as soundtrack for the crime scene TV crime movie of the same name.. A short interview with Alfred Biolek in German language can be seen at the beginning of the performance. There are many videos here on UA-cam from the same show in better picture quality than this one from me. But there the interview is missing. If you don't understand german you can't do anything with it. But in short summary you can say that Edgar Froese says that the music of TD can not be played completely live due to the complexity of the titles and compositions. It is preprogrammed from computers by calling up individual keys and buttons. The instrumentation used is very different from conventional musical instruments. This is only as information for people who want to know if Tangerine Dream is playing live, or what actually goes live and what does not. From this I can see that TD even admits that what many critics say, not everything you hear is played live.
But the played title is White Eagle...

Here I have tried to write down the short conversation or interview and translate it into English. AB means Alfred Biolek and EF is Edgar Froese.
EF: That's true, it did get a little too chilly for us in Germany. For the things we did...
AB: And you were abroad then?
EF: Yes we went via England, Australia to America and have now landed back in Germany.
AB: And can you be heard more often now?
EF: We are heard a little more often.
AB: Yes, I mean, you can be heard, for example, the other day at a "Tatort", The Girl on the Stairs.
EF: That is correct.
AB: That was a music that was actually a film score, but then hit tremendously.
EF: Yes, it has taken on a life of its own and, uh, it gives us a good reason.
AB: Yes, but can you also be heard live?
EF: Yes we will have some data in November in Germany.
AB: AH, Live, when you played yesterday at the rehearsal, a musician from Pepe Lienhard came up to me and said, is this really live it sounds like it's all from the tape because it's so perfect.
EF: Yes it's difficult, I mean all these instruments have a new technology which is already somewhat contrary to a normal set of instruments.
AB: You have programmed everything on computers?
EF: Yes Yes
AB: You not only play, you also call off?
EF: We also retrieve, certain structures are stored.
AB: They used to call, now they call off.
EF: Laughs
AB: Edgar would you still introduce us to your musicians?
EF: Yes here to my left, Christoph Franke on keyboards, synthesizer and Johannes Schmoelling.
AB: So, ladies and gentlemen, this music that is very beautiful, we wanted to visually embellish. We have asked the students of the costume design class of the University of Applied Sciences for Art and Design Cologne to present their costumes they have made recently to this music. The special thing about it is that all the costumes are made of paper. We now see this tablot together with the music of Tangerine Dream - Girl on the Stairs...

Remember buying this in the Uk as a single around 1983….I took it to school to ask the German teacher to translate the cover. Long time fan and admirer of TD ❤
The beauty of TD's music is a mystery to me. It feels familiar, as if it resonates with my soul, but at the same time, it takes me to places I have never been before. The beauty of their themes astounds me, it feels like love.

Danke für den Upload des Interviews! Auch die anderen Uploads scheinen auf den ersten Blick recht interessant zu sein. Auch wenn ich so einige Dinge davon bereits kenne, werde ich mich - sobald ich etwas mehr Zeit habe - mal "durcharbeiten". :-)
Gute Idee! Es läuft ja nicht weg. ;-) Es sei denn UA-cam löscht es. Ich habe Vieles nicht hochladen können, weil UA-cam es schon bei der Prüfung gesperrt hat, wegen Urheberschutz usw. Es ist mir bewusst das nicht Alles was ich hochgeladen habe neu ist, habe mich aber trotzdem entschieden es auf meinem Kanal zu zeigen.

Ohne Deine Arbeit zu schmälern, möchte ich doch informieren, daß man über den WDR-Mitschnittservice sich die ganze Folge in vorzüglicher Bild- und Tonqualität auf DVD-R brennen lassen kann
Danke für den Hinweis, aber ich kenne die Kosten vom WDR nicht. Beim RBB Mitschnittservice fangen die Preise bis 15 Minuten bei 29 Euro an und bis 60 Minuten Mitschnitt sollen es 49 Euro sein, was ich zu einer anderen Anfrage erfahren habe. Die ganze Sendung erwerben für einen so kurzen Auftritt von Tangerine Dream ist mir dann doch zu viel. Denn es gibt den Auftritt von TD bei Bios Bahnhof auf anderen Kanälen in besserer Bildqualität als bei mir zu sehen ist. Nur dort fehlt das "Interview" mit Edgar Froese, deshalb habe ich es hochgeladen.
@@theodorrand Das mit dem Interview vorweg war mir bisher unbekannt. Hatte nur eine schlechte VHS-Kopie. Laß mir doch auf irgendeinem Weg Deine (temporäre?) E-Mail zukommen, dann schicke ich Dir als kleines "Dankeschön" den kompletten TD-Part via WeTransfer in voller Qualität (10 min, 472 MB) und weitere Infos.
@@achimmuller5075 Was heißt temporäre E-Mail? Ich kenne mich zu wenig aus und WeTransfer kannte ich bisher nicht. Ich habe nach Recherche herausgefunden das man damit kostenlos bis zu 2GB an Dateien versenden kann. Ich als Empfänger muß dann nichts tun außer dir meine E-Mail Adresse geben? Danach bekomme ich einen Link von WeTransfer an meine hinterlegte E-Mail damit ich den Download durchführen kann? Ich will meine E-mail-Adresse hier nicht offenlegen. Mal sehen wie ich das außerhalb, also ohne UA-cam machen kann. Denn wie gesagt ich bin kein Computer-Experte.
