Theres to much artificial handicaps and entertainment now a days people have lost what it means to be a human amongst a planet of fascination. This is my perspective. If you enjoy it through a screen then theres no shame there.
The part I look forward to the most on these videos are the camp meals. Something about harvesting your food and eating it in the wild is just so appealing to me.
The plants on the hill with the tall vertical flower spikes are Grass Trees Rod, and the succulent looks like Pig Face. Love your passion for life mate - can't wait till the boys are old enough and you can show them the world
PLOT TWIST: Those lobster antennas werent ever attached to no lobster. The small one that got away dangled those out his rock as decoys and its escape plan worked perfectly!
I watch all your videos and just realised I am not subscribed somehow, so I sMaShEd the subscribe button. I used to do this all the time many years ago, but work, kids and uni have kept me fat and homebound for years. I am absolutely determined to get back into it, and you inspire the hell out of me. The simple things in life are the best things in life. Now I need to get a boat.
Joe Robinet got me hooked on this type of video, while I'm playing Video Games on the other monitor. Very calming and relaxing usually. Will give this series a shot.
With the oysters, get the knife between the entire shell and the rocks, leaving half the shell takes habitat from other oysters. Actually illegal in NZ, can’t speak for Aus. Thanks for the videos.
Few comments that you may consider! - Use a stand to film what you are doing (like taking oyster of cook) to be able to see you. You could have awesome shots on the rocks while taking oysters or when you were eating at sunset. - Use two camera, on attached to you or your hand and one somewhere around fixed. (Consider you are making a beautiful show). - Don't forget to enjoy the trip and activities (don't fall to just making it a job) that would attract people more. Keep up the good work Cheers!
The island looks like it could be my personal paradise!! I love how on the islands you visit, I never see trash, whether plastic or paper, it must be so nice. Unfortunately here in Texas, you can't hardly visit any island without seeing someone's trash that they left, or floated in on the surf. SO DAMN SAD! Wish more people appreciated nature as much as they should. The world would be a much better place!!
Great to see you back into action. Some days are diamonds some days are coal that’s the way fishing and surviving is. Pasta looked delicious. Good vid my friend.
Awesome vid Rod, love the island trips. With the hoochie setup, theres a tag in the middle of the roof panels, tie a rope from there UP to a tree, makes a heap more room inside and helps make them more secure in the wind. I have a few of those waterproof bags from kmart too and also wish I'd brought a heap more, they are better than any expensive one I've bought in the past haha
Rod, Your fishing adventures are Epic. Living off the Earth is a great . The closest big body of water near me would be Lake Erie USA 🇺🇸. I would never go on a boat that size with that small of a engine. You got some balls to go across the ocean . Prayers sent for your safe return. God bless
it's always nice to see these places lost in the middle of the ocean, thank you. I got hungry while preparing the meal, you are really good but, for your future health, I allow myself to give you some advice, try chewing every now and then and you will see that you will no longer be sleepy after meals and your liver will do a lot less work and will last longer.
Man plays VR minecraft with extra realistic shaders and no blocks mod, love it, subbed! for real tho Im such an introvert, i wanna go out and survive with him he seems like a fun dude lol i've watched the entire video and will watch all the eps cus this is fascinating to me
Just want you to know how much I appreciate you. I just sat through a 20+ second hair removal ad. Glad to see a new upload. We definitely live in the best place on this planet.
Your nuts mate, these are by far my favourite videos where you just bore off to a remote island and just eat whatever you can! In the future I would love to see a video where you go to a remote island with nothing but your boat and your knife (and maybe a bottle or so of water)
Hi Rod - those inflatable metal boat seats can be hard and cold. A DIY fix I am considering is to glue a strip of closed cell foam from a sleeping mat.
You need a floor mat, we call em 'nats' here in New Cal. Its like a thicker than tarp weaved beach mat. Open it up under the tent then place your sleeping bag etc...heaps comfier than just on the ground. Folds or rolls up nice...cheers mate!
31:22 my new desktop background you are awesome brother! I love solo camping on the mountains where I live but this is a whole new level! Im so happy I ran into one of your videos by mere luck! Stay Safe out there! Cheers! Gotta watch your videos with some food on the side otherwhise I have to pause it and go make some lol!

Made that mussel pasta before ... take a small packet of dried apricot cut up into small pieces add pinch of curry powder it adds a whole new taste!!! My secret ingredient for the crayfish one is Smokey paprika spinach and garlic with splash of cream....dam! mouth watering now 😂
Thanks Rod. Really enjoyed this. Looks a top camp spot. Damm so hard to escape those mossies!! I too like keepin the cooking simple👍look forward to part 2.
Start to another good one,bit of fine cuisine, some natural healthy winter conditioning for the body,(it is actually good for you, doing some tomorrow myself),even some rapid Bruce Lee like fine art with the dispatch of the little pest, cheers.

The plants on the hill with the tall vertical flower spikes are Grass Trees Rod, and the succulent looks like Pig Face. Love your passion for life mate - can't wait till the boys are old enough and you can show them the world
If he is making videos this entertaining in the middle of winter I'm keen what we have in store for summer
We camped at Red Rock in S.F. bay for years. This guy is a hero, we were just a family having fun. YOU ARE A HERO.
PLOT TWIST: Those lobster antennas werent ever attached to no lobster. The small one that got away dangled those out his rock as decoys and its escape plan worked perfectly!
