I used morel lifters as well. The engine is soooo quiet its crazy. No more tics or noise. I believe my shop did 0.39 or something like that for preload. Stage 3 btr, dual valve springs W titanium retainers, same trunion upgrade, 3 bolt cam conversion, c5r Hinson heavy duty timing chain. New oem lifter trays, high pressure oil pump. Also did McLeod twin disk clutch, fast lsx r intake mani, and jba headers. That's gonna be a good build 👍 mine gets beat daily in 100+° weather on a e85 tune stock fuel system. I'd strongly recommend a quality catch can too. Highly recommend these parts as they're performing awesome 👍👍
What lifters were you using before the Morels? I ended up going with Delphi ls7 lifters for my BTR cam but I wish I had went with the Morels. Mine is still in the shop
@@bwill03z76 you'll be fine. The shop recommended any LS7 style lifter but I just did a lot of research and decided I'll go with something a little bit tougher. The car was bone stock with the OEM ls3 lifters before. About 80 or 70,000 miles at the OEM ones getting a little bit louder, nothing bad or largely noticeable. I put oil stabilizer and Pennzoil Ultra Platinum every 3 or 4k miles so I'm sure these lifters will probably last the life of the car.
@@rafaelfavela77 yeah the Morel lifters are supposed to be really tough, even the lower end drop-ins. And you can get a set for like $200. I’m sure these Delphi’s will be fine I just hope they aren’t noisy
very good video, thank you for this, lots of good info for someone who's just starting. My numbers will vary since i got LS 2. Again, thank you for this video.
Parts for the LS are so cheap it's great! Think just a set of hot rod cams anymore will run you 900 bucks. Annoying how you can't just remove the valve covers on an LS for a cam swap tho
@@CamMarz i had the stage 3 and the power band definitely felt low end torquey but with the stage 4 feels almost like a honda cause i rev this thing out and feel all the power up top.Gonna do a gear swap see if i can wake it up a lil more. Nice build bro🤙🏾
Just got it back from the dyno and have the numbers! Unfortunately I was at work during the runs so I had someone in the shop record for me. I'll have those videos soon to upload the results!
It'll be cheaper to make power with the mustang. The cheapest part about a Vette is buying one. There's a Vette tax on everything... I definitely don't regret choosing the Vette over a modern 5.0 tho!
@@CamMarz thanks for the feedback, and the vid. If I ever do buy a c6, I’d love to cam it and use your vid as a guideline. Seems like a pretty solid line up for only ~1900 bucks. It’s either between a C6, or a s2000 with the science of speed stage 1 supercharger. Ugh, tough call!! Probs gonna get either in the spring/summer
Brian tooley racing and Summit. I might consider RPM's heads/cam kit on their website if you have a Z06. Those B3 cams make good power. BTR also makes a solid cam for a Z06 too!
Are the Morels pretty quiet? I started to get them but ended up going with Delphi LS7 lifters. I hope they are fairly quiet cause I hate excessive ticking
@@CamMarz should make close to or about 500whp? Depending on what else do you have done to it? @@CamMarz I made 503rwhp on my grand sport ls3 with Texas speed stage 4 cam full exhaust headers intake you should probably be around the 500s for sure
@@yurimunrayos69 I'll be knocking on the door of 500 wheel I imagine. The intake duration is more aggressive on the TSP F-35 cam so I might not get as much of a top end gain, but that's to be seen!
@@Wiicked_Rides 6.2 liters vs 7.0 liters lol. Also the bigger the cam also lowers dynamic compression which makes low end feel like a dog. Yeah you can tune it but then that defeats the purpose of the cam

Awesome! My goal was to make a somewhat decent guide
Lmfao did one fall from the sky yet? I had saved this vid waiting and I’m finally ready to cam my bih

Breaks my heart to see that price. The cams on my 3V plus parts I needed was so much haha. But as you know. Gotta do it right the first time

I've been looking at putting a Stage 3 BTR cam in my 08
I don't think you can go wrong with that one too!
12.7 it's a lot. Specially for cammed vette. I go 12.4 this completely stock ls3, even mufflers and cats.
Car has seen a 11.7 recently. New tires helped A LOT. Some probably driver error being im a manual and not the fastest driver out there
Was debating between a C6 or gen 3 S550 5.0 Mustang. Because e85 tuned can yield almost 500whp.

Is it a good idea to get aftermarket valves as well? Not sure if they're just not worth it
I don't think there is any reason to do so

what site or where did you find the website for the cam package? would love to buy as well
Half was purchased from Summit and half from BTR. Pretty sure BTR has a package

Is that the BTR ls3 stage 4 v2 cam?
This is V1. Seems like duration is the same but the V2 has more lift
what torque converter do you have in it?
It's a manual car, so I didn't need one!
Knowing that you have slowed down on post is sad ! Don’t give up

How much was the install and tuning?
Little north of 3 grand
