Lyrics:
I call you when I need you and my heart's on fire
You come to me, come to me wild and wired
You come to me
Give me everything I need
You bring a lifetime of promises and a world of dreams
You speak the language of love like you know what it means
And it can't be wrong
Take my heart and make it strong
'Cause you're simply the best
Better than all the rest
Better than anyone
Anyone I ever met
I'm stucked on your heart
I hang on every word you said
Tear us apart,baby
Baby, I would rather be dead
Deep in your heart I see the start of every night and every day
And in your eyes I get lost I get washed away
Just as long as I'm here in your arms I could be in no better place
'Cause you're simply the best
Better than all the rest
Better than anyone
Anyone I ever met
I'm stucked on your heart
I hang on every word you said
Tear us apart,baby
Baby, I would rather be dead
Ooh,aah,aah
Just as long as I'm here in your arms I could be in no better place
Oh,you're simply the best
Better than all the rest
Better than anyone
Anyone I ever met
I'm stucked on your heart,(oh,baby)
I hang on every word you said,(oh,baby)
Tear us apart
Baby, I would rather be dead
You're simply the best,(oh,baby)
Better than all the rest
Better than anyone
Anyone I ever met,(hey)
I'm stucked on your heart,(oh,baby)
I hang on every word you said
Tear us apart
I never knew this version existed until today, its fantastic.
Me too!
I was blown away the first time learning this is the original
Same here
This is not a version. This is the original !! Tina Turner cover the song
I love both versions by Bonnie and Tina. These ladies have amazing voices
They were very good singers, yes and they always will be
Indeed
How this song by her wasn't a global phenomenon is BEYOND ME. She is EPIC!
Because the album, commercially, was a flop. You have to remember how fractured the charts and music markets where back then. Sales in the UK did not affect chart position in the US and vice versa. Now streaming and online sales can affect charts even if not in the country in question.
Because she's boring
Tina had to make it her own
The record company recorded this to fulfill Bonnie’s 3 album contract and the album did well in other countries under the title of Hide Your Heart but nothing was done for the USA and other artists capitalized on the singles Bonnie recorded not just Tina…..in my opinion this was one of Bonnie’s best albums and this is one of my favorites off this album……Bonnie thinks Tina’s cover was better…. I disagree
I always thought Tina Turner sang this as an original. Thank you Bonnie Tyler!
Elle et tina ne sont pas l'auteur de cette chanson Elle ont juste interprété
Bonmie didn’t write it either
I think the song better suited to Tina's stronger voice
And only a year before Tina's version released.
I wonder why this version didn't become a hit.
Lots of people thing that about Proud Mary too. Tina covered that from CCR
Love both versions! Tina and Bonnie. Powerful voices
Both of these women are truly iconic. It doesnt matter which version you prefer as long as you accept that they are both amazing singers.
Truthfully --- Tina made the song come alive more
Rest in peace Tina. Bonnie take care.
Literally just found out bonnie did this first where have I been she’s a legend
Did not know this was origionally a Bonnie Tyler song. She deserves credit as her version is great as well!
Song is by Mark Chapman and Holly Knight. Neither Bonnie nor Tina wrote a word of it.
@@mr_reborn Tina called Holly Knight and said she would record the song if she made changes that Tina suggested, therefore this version is Chapman and Knight, but Tina's version of the song is by Chapman, Knight and very much Tina.
@@mifeke6149 Yy pero la cancion fue escrita para q la cante Bonnie ademas Bonnie la canto primero y tina se la robo
@@joelrey6453 Tina did not steal it.
Exatamente Bony Tyler gravou primeiro. Posteriormente Tina pediu para o autor autorização para gravar com alguns ajustes. Eu gosto das duas ouço quase todos os dias. Mas a da Tina em Wembkey foi Sensacional. Abraços a todos de São Paulo/Br
I would’ve loved to have seen Bonny & Tina rock this together…just once!
what venue could contain that talent.
It would be nice for Bonnie! Tina is her favourite!!!
@@coyoteartist Thunderdome!
@@Jamaicafunk Point taken.
@@coyoteartist Wembley would be a good one, it’ll be sold out in minutes
Loving this version as well! Bonnie's voice, the raspiness and grit, gives the song what it needs. Not surprised that Tina decided to record it.
Both have Raspiness and grit in spades
That's not a version. It is the orignal.
Да, эта песня The Best - изначально это песня Бонни Тайлер. Также конечно это песня Тины Тёрнер
Existe uma informação que a Tina solicitou autorização dos autores para fazer alguns ajustes e alterações na música.
Both are amazing! ❤
Bonnie Tyler queen of rock
Too many people forget that Bonnie T recorded this 2 years before Tina Turner. Great version.
A year not two
Agree,she's the best
@@ifeanyinnabuenyi164 Actually Bob is right (almost)...Bonnie Tyler released it in 1988, Tina Turner's cover came out in 1989...
@@victoriaamethystabond8888 Tina did it at the end of the day and put it into a success. Finally Tina was The Best !
Gosh I did not know it
Bonnie's voice is amazing!!
Those blue eyes, I'm forever in love with Bonnies eyes!
All of Us Are.
_Turn around, Bright Eyes_
All of us
Love both versions would have been interesting to hear these 2 strong voices singing together
So pleased I found the original version by the incredible Bonnie Tyler. She’s been one of my favourite artists since I was a child and to know she originally did this incredible song that Tina went on to record is amazing. I love both versions and don’t have a favourite as they both made it their own!
Bonnie Tyler's version is simply the best.
Both
Concordo plenamente. Linda linda muita linda Bonie. Felicidades Sempre de São Paulo capital Brasil ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
C'est la version originale
This song for my beloved son in paradise.
I think if this recording had the same instrumental power of Tina’s version it might have had more success. Bonnie’s voice is gorgeous but Tina’s voice has more grit and force and rawness-love them both!
Yeah I think Tina’s is better produced.
This original version has more of a lighter, rockabilly vibe to it. Tina took it to the "stadium rock" level. Both are equally excellent, just different.
Rockabilly?!?!
NR productions u r so right..they r so great in their own way..nice song
So true....
@@commente people can't put sentences together anymore..
Turner's version is better. Better vocals.
Rest in peace Tina ! Thank you very much Bonnie.
Bonnie, YOU are the best!
Абсолютно!
I love that voice 😍
The one and only the Welsh princess with a voice like a angle 🤘
I wish I had seen the two of them singing together.😍😍
That would have been excellent 🎉
It's Bonnie Tyler's song, not Tina Turner's.
Both tina and bonnie were and are the best!!
vipinraja ca T bone lol did you get it
Heel mooi hey denk u haar is zo mooi hey
I never knew that Bonnie Tyler did her own version before Tina Turner‘s iconic version.
Very well done. They should have done a duet…both incredibly good vocalists respectively!
On another note: Can someone please re-activate Bonnie Tyler as a guest singer for modern retro synthwave?
Her powerful voice just fits the genre…
They did do a duet.
This is the first time I am hearing Bonnie Tyler's original version of "The Best", later popularly remade by the late Rock & Roll Queen Tina Turner.
IS BONNIE SONG THAN TINA ASKED HER IF SHE COULD SING !!!!!
@heatherziegenbein9866 when was this!!! I need to here that!!! My dad favorite two singers!!
I always thought this was Tina's original, giddy goat me. Bonnie Tyler rocks!
but Tina Turner version are much higher quality and because of that was more famous!1 infact nobody dont know for this one from bony
but its not Bonnie Tyler song too !! she is not owner/writter just like tina Turner but Tina Turner version are far better and it was huge hit while this Bonnie Tyler not even close
Damn this one is good! What a powerful singer!
THE REAL QUEEN OF ALL BONNIE TYLER ❤❤❤
Bonnie's voice is titanic, but this arrangement isn't as tight as the Tina one, where the keyboards are almost as important as the vocals.
True.
I like Bonnie's version better. Her rasp and growl makes the song more believable.
One and only the original. Simply the best!
You’re the best Bonnie ❤
Well I never knew Bonnie Tyler sang this before Tina Turner, until Simon Mayo on the radio said today. I think it's a great version, but I've always known the Tina Turner version, where she just takes it up to a whole new level!!! 😊 Shame they couldn't have done a duet! She should def sing it some more now Tina has passed on. Well done Bonnie 👏
Super dom e talento que Deus o Criador , deu a nossa Bonnie Tyler .👏👏👏👏❤😍
Great song. Enjoy both versions. Tina took it to another level. Replacing the guitar with the saxophone enhanced the sound.
Nos amamos bonnie tyler 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Seems I'm not the only one who did not not know that this song was originaly singed by Bonnie Tyler...
Bonnie..
When you were young ..
You look very pretty..
🤩🤩👍👍💯💯
Always loved Tina Turner's cover of this song, but Bonnie Tyler's original release is great! It feels a little like Bonnie is holding back on the vocals in some parts whereas she could have let some of the power she used previously with Total Eclipse of the Heart or Holding out for a Hero shine through. That said, still a great song sung by two great artists. 💕
Thanks for your works, Tina, Bonnie
HAD NO IDEA! THIS IS BY FAR A
BETTER VERSION. EXCELLENT.
Tina is 1000000000 times better
WHAT A DUET THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN.
This is not a version, this is the original one. This is THE song.
Oh yeah!
Sorry but Tina turner is the best.
Tina got the airplay because Bonnie's version was on an obscure, undermarketed album which led a lot of people ,not me, to think she was a has been and her records wouldn't sell
Абсолютно! Agree
The song was written by Mike Chapman and Holly Knight. It was offered to her and a year later was given to Tina, who was working with Holly Knight. The base of the song was not created by Bonnie nor Tina. When they took the song, each one gave her personal touch to that base.
Wow. Just found out in 2021. Simply wow!
This version is more mellow from beginning to end! Great rock ballad version. Tina's version is more dynamic, both musically and lyrically (Tina added a bridge section). Tina's music arrangements steadily built you from the first beat at the beginning of the song...and eventually reach the climax, which is the bridge...making it more of 'rock anthem' than a 'rock ballad'.
Definitive comment. Thank You for explain everything, sir.
@@ernestoribeiro2226 Thank you, I noticed the differences in opinions between Tina's fans and Bonnie's fans in many of the comments.....so I thought perhaps an explanation based on facts can help to shine a light on the obvious truth about this song!
I like this more than Tina Turner's version and it the first time I've ever heard it! That missing bridge really lifts the song though
No, Anna Mae Bollocks versions is way inferior. With sappy words like this, you need them delivered with meat and heart, neither of which Turner is capable of, plus her bleeding-ears tone-deaf approach and her cat-like mewling-mangling of so many lines just kill it. Add the revolting saxophone in the middle bit before she comes back for the final roar, God no! Always typical how the WRONG songs or WRONG versions by WRONG singers (if even that) are the ones picked up!
So good song then?
bonnie is so pretty, the eyes, the legs, the voice... what a lucky girl. love u
Beautiful voice
When I hear Bonnie Tyler's voice I go crazy
Браво Бонни Тайлер и Тине Тернер!Светлая Память Тине Тернер....

Bonnie Tyler is the BEST :)

Fantastica..!
Bonnie Tyler's version was # 1 in Belgium. and Ireland, it became a worldwide success because in that year 1988, CBS Records (now Sony Music) did not promote the album Hide Your Heart. In fact, the first single was "Save Up All Your Tears" which years later would record Robin Beck and Cher.
Все певицы и певцы исполняют эту песню (The Best ) и все с большим воодушевлением . Супер . Мне очень нравится......................
Literally, Bonnie Tyler is simply the best
Better than all the rest
Better than anyone
Anyone I ever met
GODDESS OF ALL!!!❤❤❤❤
Bonnie’s original is simply the best version
Tina is best.
It"s personal taste. For me Bonnie takes Tina to the cleaners. I'm a big fan of both singers
No, Bonnie is the best.
@philwatson6659 with Tina you've got the saxophone the legs the dancing the high notes her version is way better
Bonnie Tyler the best ❤
❤❤❤Bonnie❤❤❤ Both versions are absolutely amazing.
VERY COOL! Love that.... thanks for uploading this original Version of THE BEST. 👍🏻👌🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Bonnie rocks!
wow i never realised bonnie tyler did this first. Its amazing how production and that artist can completely transform the same song. In Turners version you get the sense the person she is singing about is dangerous and wild, and totally bad for her. In this version sounds like she's singing about Tom Hanks.
Simply The Best.
Words for what???
Love you Bonnie
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Bonnie Tyler é visceral!!!!!👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I prefer this version!
The original.
Uauuuu descobriu hoje que a primeira versão dessa música é da Bonny, ameiiii também😍😍😍😍😍
can't believe this wasn't a hit!!!!!!!????????
THIS IS THE ORIGINAL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and its much worse then Tina Turner version which are much better with sound /music
but its not Bonnie Tyler song too !! she is not owner/writter just like tina Turner but Tina Turner version are far better and it was huge hit while this Bonnie Tyler not even close
Прекрасное исполнение!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Written by Holly Knight and Mike Chapman, but it wasn’t a global hit until it was released by Tina Turner in 1989 from her Foreign Affair album. They added a bridge and a key change for Tina. She loved it and it became her biggest song ever!
Grandissima Bonny ❤❤❤❤❤
i love it !!!! this is the best !!!!!!
She sounds so young, you almost would think this was one of her early 70's songs
This was from the late 80’s
Check out her version of have you ever seen the rain and blue oyster cults going through the motion shes brilliant
La versión de Bonnie Taylor es formidable para escuchar su gran voz y la versión de Tina Turner hace estallar los sentidos con su voz y la gran orquestación. Las dos versiones simplemente The best.
Just love Bonnie!
Que bien queda esta canción en la voz de Bonnie al igual que en la de Tina es un gran tema .,. me encanta
🇬🇧 Whichever way you 'cut it' Bonnie did credit to this song. This version is great!
Spettacolare....fantastica
It's amazing how the music arrangements change the song. If bonnie sung the song as Tina version was produced, history would be different. Both women had the power and talent to make this song legendary, Tina was given the arrangement that did it
I think you're spot on. Bonnie's vocal performance is very good, straining and emotive. But the arragement is too busy with lead guitar lines that don't add much, and doesn't have enough momentum as it hits the chorus. The arrangement for Tina's version is peak eighties studio wizardry.
Definately, this is down to production, You can feel this lacks the tightness of Tina's production and she gave a bit more emotion but Bonnie's delivery of the chorus was definately the guide track for Tina. Range wise they are on par and if Bonnie would have had that thicker kick and snare to make it stadium rock instead of a slight country twang then this would have been hers. Both great vocal performances but it just emphasises the importance of the producers vision for what the song is.
Very true. Some genius managed to put Bonnie on the Turner arrangement here. It's absolutely dynamite

So true.
FIRST IS BONNIE'S SONG SGE WROTE IT AND SANG IT 2 YRS BEFORE SHE ALLOWED TINA TO SING IT !!!!!NO VERSION HERE IS HER SONG PERIOD NOT TINAA!!!!!

DOMINA COM MAESTRIA TODA A TÉCNICA DO CANTO.
Bonnie Tyller yes,you are simple the best.
DAVVERO INCANTEVOLE......MERAVIGLIOSA
I never knew bonnie Tyler did this first until frog leap studios did a metal version and pointed out that fact in the comments.
I cam to listen to this one for the exact reason. I was wondering what the original was like after listening to Leo's.
me too
but its not Bonnie Tyler song too !! she is not owner/writter just like tina Turner but Tina Turner version are far better and it was huge hit while this Bonnie Tyler not even close
wonderful voice
They are both awesome
Quelle formidable artiste ❤ 🎉 💫💝
Just AMAZING.. 👍
Simply the best ! 👍
The world is damn lucky to have two versions of this song in which neither are the lesser one.
Бонни Тайлер - ХОРОША !!!
да они и по сей день лучшие.
От ее глаз и голоса можно сойти с ума!!!
Я ття умоляю
)))
Increíble la.voz que tiene😊.
I think this version is way better than Tina Turners cover version ❤
I found out today that Bonnie recorded this song first than Tina! this performance is great too!
