Hunter has an incredible amount of problems, and Willow has her own, but sometimes I feel like the life Hunter was handed IS his problem, so it'd be natural if he felt it's all him. That he's a burden and the best thing for people, Willow included, is to not be dragged down. That his life is a harbor and, if Willow comes close, he's just going to be an anchor.

Ooh like the ship is the only one keeping the both of them afloat! While the anchor is or feels like they're dragging the ship down and stopping the ship from moving on, but the ship wants to stay anyway because they love and want to help the anchor! I love this analogy. You can look at it three ways: 1. A toxic relationship/friendship where the anchor is holding the ship back, not letting them move on (I dont believe this is Hunter and Willow) 2. The anchor feels stuck and doesn't know how to get better as you said, they don't wanna keep the ship there or hurt others but the ship stays by the anchor's side anyway. (Hunter being the anchor and willow being the ship?) 3. The anchor is the only one who grounds the ship from floating off into the unknown, supporting them and keeping them up and in place through the rough currents of the waters, the water representing the troubles in life. (I feel like the anchor and ship could both be Willow or Hunter, I think they both help each other out and ground each other)
