- So, we got our little Rav4 back and it needed a few repairs before it was ready to rock and roll again, After I took care of her few issues and was making my final walk around we stumbled upon some poverty level paraphernalia. Guess she will go to detail next !

@@chriskonte1909 Dissolve/heat up the powdered drug with said spoon, heated by a lighter. Quite classy. Of course, they'll either lose everything, die, or be stuck on the methadone program where they'll have to line up at a clinic for the rest of their lives every morning. I'm not being judgmental.. but it just seems like a big hassle all-round.

Hey Jay, figured you'd appreciate this being a Toyota guy. Scored an 03 Rav a few months ago with a 5 spd manual! They sold it for scrap but I saved her for a runaround whip. New fuel tank and a valve cover gasket and she's been a fun little car!

More than 200,000 miles and starts right up like it's new. What a great vehicle. I'd buy it.
Hey Jay it's nice that you see one of them and the headlights aren't all fogged up.
A lot of the first gen RAV4 come with glass headlights instead of the cheap plastic ones that tend to fog up.

Jay, I have a white with blue interior 1999 Rav4 with 98K miles. Thats right, 98,000 miles. factory Toyota CD changer in the dash and a 5 speed. It still looks brand new inside. Those little things are fun!
I love the seat designs for the XA10's.

Almost $19,000 for that when new , even then a good buy because Toyota knows how to make loyal repeat customers with quality and dependability.
3:40 about the straps on the back seats; to expand the rear cargo area, you fold the rear seats forward (after removing the headrests), lift the seats up from the rear and push them forward. The straps have a hook at the end which goes into a loop to hold the seats in place and keep them from falling down.

Apparently... they were smoking some of that left hand cigarette and someone asked them to crack the window, not past the crack! You just never know what turns up when you buy something used.
I just purchased a 2015 and its an awd and its a very reliable slick lil unit. It floods on my property, and drives right on thru with no problem. And gas mileage is great. And it only has 72 on the clock. I expect to get at least 300.000 miles or better before I trade up. And they do hold their value.

Pretty clean old RAV4! (except for the heroin paraphernalia) I would not mind owning it after a good cleaning, to use as a third vehicle to drive around town.
Love the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gen rav4s. Actually sick little SUVs with some capability l, and not just a crossover like the 4th gen and up.
I wouldn't discredit the 5th gen though; my 2019 RAV4 Adventure's AWD system has proved its mettle on and off the road time and time again, though I'd love to own a 1st gen RAV4 as a project car!
@@kyukyoku_ yeah I still don't mind the newer gens, and they're still fairly capable, it's just they look like all the other compacts/crossovers, and the removal of the full size spare kinda took a hit on the name imo
@@Bobby-cm7vu I suppose it's all in the name of ergonomics, comfort, and technology. I didn't like the standard look of the 5th gen with its Scion-esque grill design, but once I saw the front end of Adventure model, I instantly fell in love with it. Kinda see it as a mini Tacoma in a sense, haha!
Bobby I think you are a little mistaken. The 5th Gen has the most ground clearance, towing ability, off-road ability, etc. It’s a true SUV. I agree that the 4th Gen is trash. I love my 5th Gen RAV4 AWD.

I have a 1997 with 186k miles now, a year ago I got it at 149k stilling running like a champ because I maintenance it ofc.
I had a 99 for 5 months before I rolled it my favorite car I've owned
@3:52 those straps are for the seats when reclined forward. They keep the seats folded and strapped. There should be a ring behind the driver and passenger seat to latch onto.

Ouch😬 BIOHAZARD! A word of caution, Jay. Since the former owners weren't so forthcoming about the reason they were "giving it up" perhaps it was due to some kind of illegal activity. You just never know. I might contact the police on this just to be sure. That's scary stuff finding that in there.

Ya as a former detailer needles are probably the most scary thing that you can find. Definitely don’t be reaching around under the seats or storage compartments in that thing
If that CD is the parental advisory version that's a good find that is a nice vehicle for the year. just need a more up to date radio and maybe speakers and your potentially good for 100k with basic maintenance

These things are damn near indestructible. Honda CR-V without the CR-V problems.
my mom has this same car and unfortunately has frame damage and has to be junked (same color to) and we had it for 7 years and only broke down maybe 1-2 times. Going to miss it. Ours had a sunroof.

It might be just my opinion but, these to me do not have enough power, believe me I tester of a 2018 RAV4 with a family member and we discovered this! We ended up with a Honda CRV just for the power. But I still love my Toyotas though!
