    I too was under carbon fiber constraints for the ZO7. However, I do appreciate the slightly milder suspension and I'm better without the Cup 2Rs on the street.

      @@user-rb1qm1tz1l I'm sure they're awesome. The Cup 2Rs also skate off the road in wet weather. I live in Colorado and drive in the mountains.

    VIR is not a short track. It has a 160 mph straightaway and is considered Americas Nurburgring. Throttle House SLIGHTED the Z51 Stingray and went so far as to say it didnt compete with the 992 series Carrera. The bigger news of Y chassis C8 series cars is after the initial German test on GRIP magazine against the Carrera S, it was never seen or heard of again on German soil until driven on the Nurburgring by Mischa Charoudin in both Stingray and Z06 configurations. The point being is to save a market of high dollar cars, many journalist publications will omit the entire C8 series because its just too good. Motortrend is not the publication it used to be by a very long shot, and sells automotive advertising for the most part in their testing.

      We were talking about the Nurburgring in comparison to the VIR. You're talking about 4 miles compared to 13. In that comparison, yes, the VIR is shorter.

    I've mentioned this before, the E-Ray costs the same as a ZL1 1LE + the SS. Yet the performance isn't there. It gets outperformed by the ZL1 1LE and the performance is almost matched by the C7 GS. (sited by C&D) It's almost like the Challenger Hellcats, where the performance is almost being matched by or even losing to cars that cost $30k to $40k less. That, and the hp of those cars are also less. If the E-Ray was $10k to $15k less sure. Or if the weight was lowered by 500 to 600 lbs along with the rest of the C8 lineup to lose a similar amount. It would be an amazing car. It's a great car now but but if they would just make it considerably lighter it would be an amazing car.

      Not disagreeing that the Eray should cost less. I’d say ~90k. But running a 10.4 stock in the 1/4 isn’t too shabby. I think it’s got a great platform for boost being AWD and 655hp from the factory.

    I'm really enjoying my 2023 Z06 and am looking forward to taking delivery of my 2024 E-Ray next month. I'll put 3000 miles on my E-Ray in the three weeks following delivery, so that will give me enough seat time to do a good comparison. I'm not sure where the $7,800 price difference was referenced, but when you add the gas guzzler tax and the carbon ceramic brakes to the Z06, the base coupe price difference between the two is $16,295. Optioning a Z06 like my ordered E-Ray would have increased the price by $18,300.

      The starting price points of both cars are far too similar. I'm not worried about the fact that the eray comes with carbon ceramic brakes standard, the iron brakes perform the same so that's not a selling point for me. At the end of the day, the Z06 and E-Ray should not be so similar in price is where my opinion is and apparently Motor Trend agrees. I think the E-Ray is a great car but should cost around 10 to 15k less than it does to really be the best it could be.

      Agreed in that they’re overpriced. Should be 95k at most. The only appeal to me is the AWD and 655hp foundation to add boost (TT).

    While the Eray is an amazing performance-enhanced Vette with several firsts, I agree with you, and now MT, that it is over priced for what you get. Maybe the C8 Grand Sport will offer the wide-body look/benefits, with more HP (500+), at a more reasonable price (MSRP $79K)? Otherwise, once the initial hype is over, and people really see what you get for the Eray money, especially for use on a day-to-day basis, I see the Eray as the "Cacti" equivalent (very limited demand) of the C8 model line, which is really too bad.

      @dwaynejones3010 they can be added to any aftermarket exhaust. I do get a check engine light every now and then usually about 1000 miles in between

      Not really, you can hear a little more intake noise but the intake is mostly for added power.
