I have used both and my kids never had an issue bamboo tends to absorb more but they are more pricey

Yes that's how they usually are I just like to personalize mine

Yes, the solid color PUL is just cheaper than the print PUL so most people opt to get a solid (usually white) and use a cute design fabric for the outside of the cover.

How old is your son? I used this pattern as a night time diaper for abuela's house (since she doesn't trust that my daughter really is potty trained) and I felt it was so huge on her... but she's a tiny 3 yr old
