I can't believe it took me this long to discover this GENIUS artist. I downloaded from iTunes her whole discography and everyone should do the same. IMPRESSIVE.
This woman is a goddess. And a one-of-a-kind artist. Her first CD was great and this one no doubt will be as well. Get them both and support music of great but quiet risk.
I love that her melodies don't exactly stick with you, but the FEELING sticks with you instead, which is more vital anyway. Thats ristorante calibre music compared to fast food calibre music. It takes an interesting mind to not only make this music, but believe in it so intimately that she can make it coherent.
i'm a big fan of jeff buckley so of course i had to check joan wasser out... a phenomenal voice, honest lyrics, and can play the heck out of instruments--could i help but not be a big fan of hers as well?

She used to avoid mentioning Jeff but after The Classic she started admitting that the earlier songs were about him. To Survive is the album, pretty obvious. Mother & lover both gone, torch songs.
I don't like every female singer. I get bored by them most of the time. Joan doesn't do that to me. I can listen to her music as much as I want. I saw her perform last night in Amsterdam. What a woman, what a voice !!
Mmmm. Have seen her with Rufus but totally comes into her own on stuff like his. The new album To Survive will consolidate her reputation and deservedly so.
